  1. how much port area you want box size? wht kinda power you running all that matters in a design

    What size is the box?

    Need more info....

    Sub configuration, dimensions?

My designs basically got shot down when i found out more stuff because I'm new to building this stuff and i want to do it right my first time...for the box DC says 3.5 cubic ft per sub and i want 4 so 14 cubic ft plus sub displacement for all of them which is .72 cubic ft and then everything else ...so i planned on a box 1.8ft x 3 ft x 3ft but i can change this (i need to fit this in and area thats 2ft x 4ft x 5 ft) tell me if you need any more info

  2. No. not nearly enough port area.

I went by what he gave me... i seem to have noticed that as well just wasnt sure... another thing i was wondering is how he figures .72 for sub displacement

One I was just throwing out some #s for port I can do something else and .72 for displacement by the website which says .18cubic ft for sub displacemt so times four is .72

  3. So can someone help me with port dimensions i have made the dimensions for my box 1.7ft x 3ft x 3ft to make a box thats 15.3 cubic ft minus the sub displacement that is .72 cubic feet so I'm at 14.58 cubic ft for a sub box that needs 14cubic ft...can some on give me dimensions for a square port thats not slotted thats tuned to 33hz mostly i just need the length i have 12in x 8in x ?

i was using this site but I'm not sure if its taking into account of the port displacement

  4. i started a design for my 02 silverado ext cab and the box was gonna be raised off the floor a good bit 59" wide 24" tall and 22" deep and it was over 15 cubes. So if you didnt have batts to go over you could get more space no problem

Yea see I was thinking I would

    Have enough room no problem

But people were sayig no and I didn't know why I was just tryin to get feed back on it thanks man

  5. Not enough room once you take into consideration subwoofer, bracing, and port displacements. With 13ft^3 gross volume you could probably do three 15's, but you'd need to do a wall to do all four subs.

The sub displacement for 4 is .704 ft^3 and bracings won't take off more than a cubic ft at the most plus the port volume would be .36ft^3 if I tune it to 33 Hz going 8hx10wx7.85l (inches) and its not a slotted port so putting all that together it seems like I do have enough room

  6. I have A 02 GMC Sierra 1500 ext cab and I'm

Pretty set on putting 4 15s in it... Now I'm gonna take out my back seat in order to make all the room but what some people have told me

Is that I don't have enough to fit the recommended 13 cubic feet but I've measured

It out and it seems to me I have more than enough my question is why wouldn't it be or do you think it can fit?

  7. a wall is a form of subwoofer enclosure that expands from the floor to the ceiling and side to side in the passenger compartment of a vehicle. it can be mounted anywhere behind the front seats. walls (to be a true walls) need to seal the new front cabin space off from the rear cabin space, in order to effectively utilize the reduction in overall cabin volume. Most walls are built to allow the user to fit multiple subs, in a smaller cabin space, to optimize the pressurization that occurs.

    **Edit**

opimizing the pressure will allow the vehicle to produce a higher SPL

Thank you best answer I've had so far

  8. as someone who walled their car after months of research and planning....i dont think you're ready for it.

dig through as many build logs as you can on here, and get VERY familiar with box designs and box building.

then one day (maybe) you'll be ready to attempt it

Ha all I'm doing is research I want to know what they are and learn about walls Im not building one any time soon look to difficult for now

  9. ^ man someone's tough,

Your logic is flawed, yes you asked a question, i answered it by saying dont wall it.

you need mad experience to do this, if you spend enough time doing builds you'll learn this on your own.

    :twirl:

Well not acting tough just pointing out a fact and no you didn't answer my question at what point did I ask if I should wall it. All I asked was what it is and so details so I can learn about it didn't say anything about me doing it. So you didn't actually answer my question

  10. dont wall if you dont know what it is, youll be better off throwing a box in your trunk for now,

And don't reply if you don't answer my question... I'm just asking what it is and want to learn about it. I didn't say anything about doing it
