Anybody know any companies that do trade ins like say, trade in set amount of subs to upgrade to a bigger line and pay off the difference
-
speakers = mids and highs
subs = subwoofers
big difference, deadly hertzz
edit: always cut when eq'ing. if you have to boost, you're not running speakers that suit your listening needs, or your door panels arent strong enough or are leaking air, etc etc.
Yep your right completely different but that wasn't what the thread was about so that's why I was confused about him sayin if I didn't want Input on it don't start a thread and I never once started a thread about my "speakers"
-
Oh Ok, cuz that's not what the thread was about
-
Somebody out of nowhere started a whole convo about my mids and highs thats where all of that came from, I get what your saying about the level control knob up when setting Ile re do it like that then
-
Kirill what are you talking about ? Better performance with less speakers I have 8 sa 12s in a wall and I'm setting the gain on an saz3000
-
After I reset everything without the line driver and with the knob adjusted, I didn't play full tilt but half volume I could tell that actually turning it down turned it down adm turning it up turned it up since I set it with the knob in the middle, so hopefully that fixed my problem I didnt WANa smoke any subs and the dd1 is handy once you figure out how to properly set everything to use it, thanks everyone
-
Also I just reset it without the line driver and with the knob at halfway when I was on break at work a minute ago but haven't got a chance to turn it up since I'm out there n the parking lot
-
^ I understand but say I set it with the eq to flat but then once it's all set I turn the eq back on won't it send it to clipping since the signal will be a tad higher then with it to flat
-
jezus its like children fighting in the sand pit in this thread!
Never knows best. your username is rather accurate. you are trying to tell someone that they are doing something wrong (which they are not doing wrong), just because its not how you would do it.
8 speakers on a 4 channel is not out of the blue by ANY means! there is nothing fucking wrong with using his head unit, it maybe 10 watts but maybe thats also enough power for the speakers that its powering. they could be 1inch away from his ears for all you know... AND IT IS NOT WHAT THIS THREAD IS RELATED TO AT ALL
stop being a smart ass. It has been proven by many people that it gets you nowhere
now that my post 18hour shift rant is finished... try dd1ing with out the line driver, sounds like you were using that as your meter before the dd1 so try it with out. if your getting really shitty voltage and you do need it, then by all means put it back in, the reason why we are suggesting to try it without is that it is just another device that has the possibilty to make the signal dirty which is what you don't want
turn the knob all the way up and then test again, you could test with out the knob then plug in. but I dont suggest it at all because then you are tuning the dd1 against what your actually going to be using which is the point, the knob might also make the signal dirty for some unknown reason so best to test it with it. now, if you are still having the same trouble. try it with out the knob. if it then works like I said earlier go get yourself a lc1 they are cheap as heck and will do excatly what you want it to do!
Exactly right I was using it to set the gain with previous amps, so after work Ile drop the line driver and re tune it with just straight rca's and the knob all the way up and see how it comes out, thanks, and yeh it is just an added piece that makes it more complicated and another piece that has to be dd1'd but Ile give it a try after work and see how it sounds thanks alot

wow, i'm done
Idk!!!! What u want man lol is there something wrong with that also ? That' I have each set of speakers wired to each other then on each channel, the 2 powers together to 2 ohm each set of tweeters together to 4 ohm etc....
-
My original post was about the dd1 anyhow not any speakers or 4 channel or any of that my doors touch the seat in almost every spot except one open spot where I'm doing the pods and that's just how it's gonna be, to anyone still following the thread, just drop the line driver and re set the gain with the remote knob all the way up correct ? And also what would the outcome be when dd1'ing with the remote knob unhooked completely then Hooked back up after tuning ?
-
Not hard it's not like everyone with crazy doors with 60 speakers In a car has 15 4 channel amps in their car
-
I don't have rear speakers I have all the speakers wired together to either 2 or 4 ohms on each channel, when the doors are done Ile have the the 2 in the center console on the amp the a pillars on the amps and the 4 nendos in the doors on the amp, my head unit will stay powering the alpine components in the doors because I see no point in unhooking something for 0 reason and once again the amp will already have 8 speakers on it again......
-
Ile be taking the overhead tweeters and the onyx speakers out when my doors are finished and running 2 on each channel but I don't understand the logic of I have the door speakers playing or I can unhook them
For no reason at all?
-
Yeh but if im already running 8 on my amp wouldn't it be dumb to simply unhook any speakers from the head unit
-
2 4 inch rockford powers n the console 2 dome tweeters n the a pillars and 2 mb quart onyx speakers until I glass some pods for 2 PWX's in each door and 2 tweeters over the seat belt over head
-
I already have 8 speakers ran off my 4 channel, why wouldn't I have any speakers ran off the head unit ? That's just wasted to me if I unhooked them for no reason and the hpf is at 80hz they can play at whatever volume but I use 3/4 as my max because that's the loudest volume I like to have it, but still humor me on why it's comical to have speakers ran off the head unit?
-
Yes it's
An audio control, and yes I set it with it down and it's not a bass knob that acts ass a bass boost just as a level control, so I should reset it with it all the way up?
-
Probably that's why I just keep it at 3/4 but I don't get why after I set the gains it's already seems like it's close to full tilt with the "bass" knob all the way down, should I use the -10 tone just to be safe
-
Yeh they're running off the head unit all my
Other speakers are running off my 4 channel, door speakers just don't sound good when the volume goes past 50 plus the loudest normal
Volume I Listen to is 44 and that's at exactly 3/4
-
Would it be better without the line driver ? I used it before because I used the blip lights to set the gains on my old amps and the higher voltage helps keep ground or engine noise out but do you guys think I should remove it? And also one amp saz3000 and yes control Knob I like to keep the level low when I'm just riding without it I get one volume of bass I like the option to control whether I want the bass loud or not
-
Head unit goes full til with no distortion but my door speakers don't like full tilt so I set everything with it at 3/4
-
Ok so did my tuning using the -5 track i have a line driver also I always use a preset eq on my head unit so left it on when tuning because it pushes a higher signal than flat and I figured if I tuned it flat then used the eq after it would boost it into clipping, after tuning my subs seem to be doing too much with the bass knob all the way down and I turn it a tad and gets extremely loud before even 1/4 the way up ? What' did I do wrong i left amp gain down turned line driver up halfway because where it actually distorts is too much voltage for my amp it's and audio control overdrive and does over 8v before clipping and my amps Input is 6 so after tuning that I turned the gain up in the amp til distortion then backed off a good bit, don't understand why it seems to be almost full tilt at the lowest on my control knob

Miiiiiiiight be getting rid of my truck after the season and doing a 4th n a Burban but if I could trade me sa's in for x's and pay the difference or even if another audio company would do a trade in like that cuz it'd be hard to find someone to buy all 8 of my subs lol
