  1. Honestly not sure about the port dimensions. My good friend owns a car audio shop and built the box. I just did the install. subs up and port up. but the box is sitting to where its angled towars the back hatch of the car. And thanks sheena! But I noticed it sounds better if I push down on the box.
  2. I mean it sounds that easy but its really not. I cant really lift the box up more than an inch or two. It's built against the strut bar in the back of the car. I'm not sure if you're familiar with 350z's or not. I will definitely give that a try though.
  3. thanks a lot everybody! Only problem with putting down false floor is I can't get the box out of my car.. It was built inside. But I will just use L brackets and bolt them into the floor of the car. And the subsonic is set to 25 hz.
  4. Hey everybody, I've got a quick question. I've got 2 re sxx 12's running off 2 arc ks 1000.1's and the low bass sounds pretty terrible. I know the amp settings aren't the problems. the gain is MAYBE 1/8th of the way up. The bass boost is all the way off and crossover frequency is set to 80 hz. I am having a hard time finding the problem here. The box is right at 4 cu ft. and tuned to 30 hz. The setup is in the hatch of my 350z. Also when the bass hits, the box comes completely off the floor. I think this may be half the problem. Also, any ideas how to hold my box down without drilling holes in the floor? there is no carpet so velcro won't work, thanks!
  5. I actually haven't tried the switching woofers idea yet... I need to finish my coffee and quit being lazy and go try it out.. lol. But I will run down to the garage real quick and try it out. I talked to my buddy that's a dealer and he said I will probably need to swap the 1000 for a 1200. but the thing is, I can buy 2 of the aq1200d for less than 1 ks1200. So I might just sell both arc amps and buy the aq's. But I will keep you updated with the woofer swap.
  6. ya it's shared airspace. So you think the problem is the two different amps? In that case, i don't know what to do. Arc actually kind of screwed me by giving me the new model... now I have to buy another to match. -___-
  7. ok, let me redo this... sorry I didn't know that.
  8. I am currently running the arc audio amplifiers and I was wandering what the spl difference would be between the aq's and the arc's. I'm sure the arc will have significantly better sq but for right now, I'm trying to go with spl. I'm running them on (2) 12" re sxx. I'm just trying to find the loudest spl amp for the money, and from what I've heard, you can't really beet the audioque for the money. Thanks!
  9. Ok, I will definitely try switching them out. I will go down to the garage and do that real quick. But also, does anyone know if I can bridge the ks1200 and the 1000? They both put out 1000rms at one ohm... And I would be bridging them to one ohm. It's just the ks1200 does 1200 watts at 2 ohms which is what they're currently running.
  10. What's up guys? This is my first post but I've always been a big fan of this forum... But, I've got a problem. I just got my system installed in my new car. I have 2 re audio sxx powered off of an arc audio ks1200.1 and an arc audio ks1000.1. ( had 2 ks 1000.1's but when there was a problem recently they sent me a new ks1200 instead.) Anyway, one of the subs works perfect, but the other bottoms out on every low note. The amp settings on that sub are turned down to where it hardly even moves with high bass. But when it hits the low note it still bottoms out. Also it seems like the sub is kind of pulling in instead of pushing out. And yes everything is wired correctly and the phase on the amp is correct as well. I am stumped.. also if I'm looking for more spl, would 2 aq1200d's be louder than the arc's? I could sell the arc's used for well over the amount of 2 new aq1200d's. I'm just going for spl in this build. And the subs are in a 4 cu ft ported box tuned right around 30 hz in the hatch of a 350z. Thanks for the help!
