  1. BTL's don't need that big of a box. How much power are you running?

Also, the tuning is pretty low as is, no need to tune any lower. more port area slightly higher tuning > less port area slightly lower tuning.

oh and inb4 Joe X lol

Running an audioque 2200 which has blown up twice....... LOL..... still sounds just as good as when I bought it new though.

AND LOL WE ARE BEATING JOE

I was just following the tech section on there website. So you don't think it would be much of a change then the box I am currently using? I am very curious to try, also I fucked up that screen shot forgot to add the double baffle doing it now lol.

  3. Hey guys I have a new design for my 18. The current box in my car has around 6.9 cu ft net and 13.66 sq inches of port tuned to 31.3 htz

The new box will be bigger. 7.9 cu ft net with 16.0 sq inches of port per foot. This will be my second box build. I am not sure about the port per foot sq inches. Tuning for this big box is around 31.5 htz. Is it good to have a lot of port area per foot for lows or should I bump down to 12 sq inches of port area per foot?? I am not sure. Any help and tips are much appreciated. Here it is in Torres,

  4. Well you could do what I did in a four door car too. All I did was leave the bench of the seat and take off the top part of the seat? If that makes sense? The guy that built me the box painted it like that. I think he did a pretty good job and I would recommend him in my area to anyone needing a box built. The amp still has dust on it from the port blowing most of it everywhere lol.

Sorry for the multiple posts guys I just kinda figured out how to post pics lol. My dustcap on my sub came loose about a month ago so I used some glue and other stuff I had laying around to try and keep it from coming off again. It went on clear but after being in the sun now it has turned that crappy yellowish colour. Wish I just used a really dark black adhesive but oh well. The amp wiring is messy too I know I am going to fix all that when I get my amp rack in. I literally just finished this system within the last 2 days. I will try and get some video of it scaring people for you guys later.

  6. Well guys I have been debating upgrading my box for my car to let the BTL breath a little better and now that I have the box in place, I think it can breath nicely :). I had a friend of mine who also has an 18" BTL build the box he said he is on the SSA forums more then here but I will tell him about this post. Anyway, the guts of the system are:

Battery: XS Power D2400 up front

Wiring: All 0 gauge with 200 amp fuse (also have big three done with 0 gauge)

Amp: AQ 2200D tuned with DD-1

    Sub: 18" BTL N2

Box: 6.5 cubes tuned to around 35

Going to try and start on an amp rack because as of right now the amp is behind my driver's seat which is an okay position I guess but I just don't want anyone to step on it lol. Also, the back seat is still useable (legally with seatbelts) but it is not that comfortable because your back is against the box. I am just going to get cushions for that. Overall I think the build went well and everything works very good. I have no dimming at night when I play my system. I usually only listen to it around half anyway. If I crank it up it can get loud. I surprise everybody with it. My neighbours love me at night too! I am going to post pictures under this post.
