  1. He hasn't been in it since 1998, and I bought all the stuff myself, got a good deal on it from a friend, he told me he'd help me wire and set everything up but couldn't promise it'd be the best sounding.. Everything I bought is ages old, but hasn't been used in a while. The box is pretty good(it came with the sub), may not be for some other subs but it worked for the sub I just fried for 4+ years
  2. Haha I meant to say Power line, I have no clue why I said prime when I know good and well prime is the bottom line loll Thanks
  3. $400ish for a 600w+ rms sub, I'm looking at high end fosgate stuff (power) and I'm thinking thats what I'm gonna go with but I'm not sure as Ive also been told about sundown sa's, massive audio toro104's, and DD 3500 10's, I'm going up to a local shop my dad has known the owner for ages later today, and gonna make a decision on what im gonna get him to order me
  4. Dunno, my dad set my gains, and he's been in car audio since before 1986 when he went to nationals I don't use my system as a tool to show off or compete or anything, I just like to have something to listen to, I may be louder if I built another box to a new sub, but I'll stick with the box I have because I don't really want to spend the money or time building a new box, lol =/
  5. Dunno dimensions and stuff of my box, it's a virtual technologies box and it's made with all 3/4 inch wood, my dad told me just about any sub is gonna pound in it simply cause of how well its built and designed, and yes I plan on re-using the box.
  6. I would assume it blew because it had been used for 11+ years. Nah It sat in a garage for the last 7 years, but had been used for 4 years before that, lol
  7. When my dad gets home I'll take pics of it and I'm assuming I had too much power, even now MTX Thunder 8000 '10's say 400rms/800 peak It probably had just over 400 watts going into it, it being ran hard for 4 years, then sitting in a garage for 7 years probably didn't have any advantages to it either I don't reckon.. lol
  8. I have a Rockford power 500a2 cut down to about 400~ watts, had my radio on +1 for the sub on a -15 to +15 scale It wasn't distortion the slightest bit, it was a perfectly good CD, wasn't skipping, even turned up all the way I've played the same song I was playing when it smoked about 5 times before The subwoofer was at LEAST 11 years old, so it was bound to go anytime..
  9. So.. I smoked my first voice coil today I was cruisin down the road headed home from my buddys house and just playing a cd at like 2/3 volume, subwoofer (MTX Thunder 8000 thats 11 years or more old), all of a sudden the bass stops hitting, I turned my head unit off and drove home 200 more yards, get out open my trunk and get hit in the face by almost a cloud of smoke.. I back away for a second and see smoke just pouring out of the port.. Took the sub out and now im figuring out how and what new sub I'm going to buy Hit me up with ideas on a new '10, as I'm a rookie and know next to nothing about different subs Budget : $400ish
  10. the back seat is two big pieces, one for the actual seat, and one for the back piece for the seat, might be 1/32nd of an inch of air coming through it, if any due to the foam padding of the back seat being so thick. I guess this is a stupid question but what's a 4th order? lol
  11. Nope, it has 3 hook type things that hook onto the top of the back, and then 3 more on the bottom that are bolted down also If it folded down I would just fold it down and let it stay down until someone wants to ride in the back, lol,
  12. Is it worth it? I had my back seat out for the install of my system, now that I've put my seat back in I'm trying to decide whether I want to take the back of the back seat out again, simply because the bass being muffled behind 4 inches of thick foam padding sounds like crap and just makes my trunk rattle even harder because the air has no where to go.. So in my 1999 toyota corolla Should I? Port my back deck, or just take my back seat out so theres a 2foot by 1 1/2 foot space for air to come through I don't compete I just have a little system I like listening to, and when I crank it up, I want it to boom. also.. I would like to keep my back seat in for the occasional time or two a month when more than one friend rides with me, so that they don't have to lean back on metal
  13. Never heard of this company until recently, a friend who owns a pawn shop has some in stock. I decided to do some research on them today and see what I could find, so I started out by going to there website, to see this: T3Audio.com Discuss and tell me what you think, past experiences with them, do you still run them, any info on why they went out of business?
