a shifted motor will not cause a coil to read incorrectly holy fuck where do people get there information.......your tinsel leads should be sewn down to the spider underneath the cone and soldered to the terminals
My bad I meant if the coil isn't centered, not shifted motor.

That is assuming your DMM works properly

The tinsels connect to the coil. It could be one of three things. Either the tinsel is disconnected from the coil, the coil is toast from overpower or clipping, or the motor is shifted and only reading one coil. Since you said it's dual 2 and neither coils read correctly then it's prbably because of clipping.

Does 2k watts a sub make them move enough? I just hate showing woofers to people and they critizize it by saying oh man they are barely moving you need more power.I also like watching them move a lot. I just want the full potential of the subwoofer because I never spent so much on one sub. I was thinking putting it in the recommended enclosure 4.25 cubes with 68 sq inches of port tuned to 32.
i run my 2 zv4 15s on a saz3500dIf i got the zv4 15 would it move enough on 2000 watts? i would just like to see the full potential on the new sub. I am not going to upgrade in a while until i get a new vehicle. So i want to make this purchase right. Im maybe thinking a second sub and second 2k amp in the future for 4k watts in an suv.

Yah impedance rise and voltage drop are major issues in most of our setups. Last test I ran a saz-2000d @ 1 ohm and only clamped 850w @ 12.2v
. How big is your box? I'm running the same amp @ 1. Only dropping to 13.

So what I'm seeing is with an sa 18. You can throw 10 times the rated power and gain nearly 9 db?

But... I received a brand new shd top and only one coil read when I put the top on the motor. I spent hours trying to center it and it wouldn't read. The tantric rep said it wasn't reading because I didn't have the coil centered and wasn't using self centering conical bolts to attach the basket to,the motor.
