I had some fish, but I didn't have the lucid nightmares or any dreams at all until after I got up and let the dog out. After I was in bed alone I started having them.

who let the dogs out? who who who!   sorry I couldn't resist.  It looks like letting the dog out was enough to get your mind going for the day, as for the nightmares... turn down the metal.  =)    at least it was lucid so you knew you were dreaming?

Well, I was lucid and thinking about what was going on in the dream and controlling myself, but I didn't know it was a dream until I woke up. It's almost always like that, and when I do know I'm dreaming I can't control the dream anyway. Lucid nightmares are worse than regular ones because you're self aware and can actively take in what's happening around you.
