  1. Had an experience similar to that. I lived on a non-county dirt road, so all our mailboxes were at the end of it in a row. Well, someone got kicked out of a rental house on our road and ran them all down (which happened more than once), and my dad was still working as a lineman at the time. He brought home about a 12' section of telephone pole, and the plan was to cut it in half, put mine and my neighbors boxes in the middle of each half since they were in the middle of the row, put the poles in the ground 3-4', and cement them and all the other boxes into the ground with some rebar. It never ended up happening since that was the last time we had any problems with people in the rental house, but it's the thought that counts.
