  1. I'm happy to say it's good news so far.

I have a job interview tomorrow at Martin's. They are five people short and we are very good friends with the manager. I'm not getting my hopes TOO high, but considering that and the experience I have I might have a full time job. I'm not sure if I'm quitting BK or what. I asked to be as close to full time as possible, and they gave me 16.5 hours originally this week, but added more because someone quit. Might go to Hardee's. They need people, and I have two family friends that are managers there. One is the hiring manager for this district. They told me it's very easy to move up to a Shift manger from an hourly and get up to GM in no time. Just have to show that you want it, so I might go for that too.

Also, and I kinda don't like bringing religion into public forums, I get baptized Sunday. It just feels right. It feels like a good time for a new start for me, and even though I was baptized already I was VERY young and I feel like I did it because of my parents. I just feel like this is what I need. One singular person that I know won't go anywhere. I'm just drawn to it. Not by any person or anything, I just feel drawn to church and to do this. I've neglected my religion for years now, and it's gotten me nowhere. So I'm going to try it His way.

    Enough on the religion rant.

My dad has snapped out of his little hole he dug and has gotten determined to find a job and change his ways. He called somewhere earlier and they need someone really bad. They need a rollback driver to pick up dumpsters. He told them he has no experience, but he has a CDL licence with an up-to-date medical card and is definitely willing to learn and do whatever it take. They guy told him no, they need someone with three years experience. This has been the case with every truck driving job. What I wanna know is how anyone can get experience if it takes experience to get the job. Pfft. Total Bullshit. But it pissed him off bad enough for him to want to actually try.

I might take Fall off from school and work full time. Or I might just take online classes or go part time. I'm not sure yet. The bank is holding out on us with the house and want us to keep it, but they haven't moved toward a foreclosure yet. We haven't been served with an eviction notice or anything. But I want to cover my bases. Honestly, I want to move out. I feel like I need some time on my own. I'm an adult, but I have very little experience at it and I want the experience. I want to do this, but it will require me to have a full time job. I already put money into school, so no I have no doubt that I'll finish it. That'd be like buying all the materials to wall off my car and never doing it.

Well, that's all I've got for now. I don't know how much you guys actually care, but I just had a lot on my mind and wanted to post it somewhere. This place feels like a brotherhood, so I figured ya'll might have my back. Didn't want all my friends on Facebook worrying about me. I just hope ya'll don't read this and think I'm just bitching about life. I just want a better one.

That's not too much to ask for, is it?

  2. Doing a little build for my girl.

I had one of these 8" Dual Bandpass systems in my last car, and it served it's purpose, but I stepped up to something better when I got the Malibu. I gave it to her since I didn't wanna sell it or anything, and I figured she could use it.

She has a VR3 h/u, with two rca outs, usb, aux, and sd input. Honestly, she has no rear stage, only front, so the one sub, one amp rca setup is perfect for her truck. I'll get her a front stage eventually, but she's not big on audio.

The box didn't fit behind her seat, as I guessed. So I started to build one for her. I went sealed, since the sub is coming out of a 4th order. That would mean the EPB was under 50, which to my knowledge means it is best suited for a sealed or 4th order enclosure. I made the box 8x13.5x24. The interior is 6.5x12x22.5, which comes to 1.02 cubic feet.

    Pieces cut.

This is what I'm finishing it with. I just tested it on one part. It's kinda like the stone stuff, but it's not so rough.

    Photo1400.jpg

Put together and started filling cracks. I'm not the most spectacular person in the world at building enclosures yet.

    Photo1401.jpg

In case anyone is wondering, no. That's not bondo. I was using wood filler and ran out, an I considered going with wood putty. But then I saw this stuff and figured it was worth a shot. Not trying to innovate or anything, but I like experimenting.

    Photo1404.jpg

I went apeshit on this side because the side got crooked somehow.

    Photo1403.jpg

Well, time to let that dry. In the mean time, DINNER.

    Photo1405.jpg

Sprayed a little black on it to see my low spots as I sand. I didn't get too far because the thick places weren't dry yet. This shit gets smooth as a baby's ass. It's also dusty and turns you into a white kid. Lol.

I got the hole for both the amp and sub cut, and siliconed it. Yes, I said amp. I'm using the amp that is attached to the bandpass box, so it needs a mounting hole. And I tried something a little ghetto that didn't end well. I tried making my own circle jig for the jig saw, and the saw ran away, so I filled that spot with plaster. I then made a compass, drew out a circle, and cut it out, as I should have in the first place. Cutting corners gets you nowhere, folks. I should've learned that a long time ago.

That's all for now. The thick spots should be dry tomorrow, and I'll be getting it sanded, painted, and installed.

  3. Your wheel bearing could be seperating, so the speed sensor will not read the ring correctly. Also ive seen the axle bolt missing, and on turns the traction control ( which is part of the abs) would engage and throw a warning. Then when you drive straight the light goes out and traction control works properly. I would get it checked out if i were you.

Been planning on it. It even does it when I drive straight. It seems like it starts when I stop quickly early on in a drive.

  4. I thought it meant it was working. Lol. Damn guy at the dealership said that. And then I saw a post on the malibu forum with a guy that has to have a bunch of parts replaced on his 98 that checked out his brakes because the abs light was on. I've never been too worried about, but I was just wondering. He had his car checked with a code reader, but the two places I've checked won't do it unless the check engine light is on.

  5. Has anyone else though about the fact that some cars come stock with a tint darker than the state law allows? Like in GA, cars are only supposed to have 32% at most, but don't some come with stock 20%?

I just though that was odd... I might just sound like a jackass right now, but maybe someone could shed some light for me.

  6. I like some Ephixa. Oddly enough, though geeky, the Zelda remixes are ridiculous and have some awesome bass. Other than that, Skrillex.
I know what you mean. But hey Ocarina of TIme was beast of a game when it came out...and still is lol. I whip out the n64 when I'm feeling bored sometimes lol...

Dude, I'm on my second full run through, and I had to use a walk through on the first.

Honestly, if you want something that will fuck shit up, get Ephixas remix of Dragon Roost Island. It's a little calm at the beginning, but when the bass hits it's ridiculous.

  7. What would you do if had the funds? What car? Subs? Amps? Etc?

I just want to see what other people can come up with off the top of their head. I was looking through a car sales mag earlier and had some massive ideas.

One of the best: Buy a limo, and build a b-pillar bass cube tuned as a 6th order band pass. Not sure how many subs would fit, or whether I'd use 12s, 15s, or 18s. That shit would get down.

    It cool to dream, right?

  8. At this point this may sound worse than it really is but have you thought about Law Enforcement or Enlisting. The least I can say is it is a steady paycheck and if you stick around in either they will pay for your education. I know the Florida State Troopers are hiring like crazy they are ridiculously under staffed I am not sure how deep in GA you are but I have family in Valdosta, Douglas and Atlanta so I know things are kind of hard in the smaller towns.

Enlisting would be my absolute total last resort for anything man. The military really doesn't do anything for me. I mean, it's not even in my personality, dude. I'm sure everything will work out in some way or another. I made one good first step. Rededicated my life to God on Easter Sunday. Damn sure know I'm not alone that way. I'm not shoving religious beliefs or anything, just sayin'. I hope no mods get onto for it or anything...

I might take Fall off. I already put money into school, so I know that I'm definitely going back. That'd be like putting the speakers and everything in my car just for looks.

  9. I heard that. I had so much money put back man... My dad borrowed all of it... I didn't even spend half of it, and my dad borrowed the rest. I hate when that happens. It's hard for me to put money back. If I have a little bit, I'm always looking for something to spend it on. But if I have a bunch if money put back I hardly ever spend any of it at all. It's like it hurts me to spend it and see it go away.

  10. Wikipedia is reliable enough if you click the citations and review their sources. I often use Wikipedia for research solely based on the fact that nearly all of the sources they site are legitimate and useful.

For the unemployment stats, the citation used is the US Bureau of Labor Statistics: http://www.bls.gov/w...us/lauhsthl.htm

I live on Cape Cod and shit's stupid expensive. Real estate prices are always high, even in some of the more crowded areas that are away from the coast. Houses anywhere within walking distance of a beach skyrocket in price. There's a town called Osterville chock full of some rich peeps with houses nearly everyone can only dream of owning.

Back on topic, I'm sorry to hear about your problems man. My own audio situation is on lockdown right now due to lack of finances. Paying for school and working on the side to get what money I can is enough to get my degree and make what payments I have to. My truck has a new head unit and that's it. My badass component sets I got for Christmas are sitting in boxes waiting for me to be able to buy some glassing material and get the ball rolling. I know your pain. Honestly, you'll be happier with yourself by getting through what you need to get through and sidelining extra expenses until you have the money to spend. Get your system to a point where it's playable but don't look at investing any more money until other stuff is handled.

Best of luck to you brother!

I appreciate it man. My dad gave me some money to get my wiring kit so my amp will run smoothly. I'ts a little rigged right now. Two runs of 8awg just so it would stop going into protect. Needless to say I really needed to get the 4awg kit. That'll be going in tomorrow, and then I'm done except for little things here and there when i get some extra pocket change. Still gonna bust ass over summer. Even if my dad gets to keep this place I really wanna move out and get my own life started, ya know?
