nonono lol it was in an suv. like i said i didnt see he didnt want upgrades. and i know the big 3 doesnt do miricles. i didnt know it was a small alt my bad lol sorry
-
i was just saying. big 3 should be able to run this without crazy pull. a friend of mine has and his volts to seem to bad. anyways sorryi overlooked the not upgrading.crescendo 2000d. 380 brand new. clean power.
NO! if he is not willing to upgrade his electrical for 1500w why would you suggest an amp with more draw? The only answer here is your electrical will need to be able to back you over powering the subs plain and simple.

good to know def. thanks guys. bprob stick with a box at least until i get a second one and who knows then
-
so how about 2 mayhem 18's walled at cpillar?
-
what do you mean by "or in a box" . . . and i guess what about 1 18 b pillar. . and if still not worth it how about 2 18s c pillar? One 18 is not worth making a wall for. You won't gain much with 1 18 in c-pillar wall, I'd just go with a box. Now if you were running multiple 18's it would be a different story
-
i just like walls lol thats why but if its not gonna be anybetter than a well built box thats just stupid thats all hahayou dont need a wall, you can get a big box for that 18 in there and slap hard
-
Ok, i see your points. thanks for the opinion. . . anyone else if you got one feel free
-
reasons or preference?
-
Ive been posting a lot the AA mayhem im working up to get so sorry if im getting annoying but. . i have a 99 jeep grand cherokee. Id like to do a wall but i just need my back seats. so i thought about doing a 1/3 wall i have enough room to do it i think im just wondering what people think about it and how it may perform. on top of that is it just stupid to wall a single 18?
secondly would it be better to just build a nice box in the back (sub up port back) instead?
Any ideas or help would be awesome guys!
This isnt my jeep but same exact lay out just to give an idea on space.

you could do a circuit breaker for the 4 gauge. thats the only thing i can see being used realistically
I found this. .. if i put it like under my dash where its reachable is that ok? as in does it matter where it is realative to the battery or whatever?
-
So i want everything in my system to be turned off and on with their own switch, and then a master switch. i have a lot of lights and im going to have fans and such. right now. I run a wire from battery to a switch, and then to my underdash lights. that works good for a small setup. but im getting this distributer . . . the main wire is going to be a fused 4 gauge strait from the front battery. and then each accessory from that (this only has 6, im getting one with 15) im going to put in a switch for each one. my questions is how to put a switch on the 4 gauge wire?
i am also going to have some extra batteries in the rear with a few runs of 0 gauge running up front but this 4 gauge will be to the front battery
suggestions?

I guess but i mean. you have to be near fucking idiot to not understand a DD1. flat EQ, RCAs, tracks 1 and 2. clip light. . . . i just gave him an idea on where mines at like i said ealier
-
which HU? mine or the OP's? hahaI have that unit at my work. It highest I could get the volume before it clipped on all eq settings was 28. No matter what it clipped higher then that. Now we have it on our wall. So maybe in a car with the car electrical and not how it is on show at my shop it might be different. It is also our biggest returned product for screen failure. So hope yours works good for you...
and what clipped, the RCA's or HLO??
-
Its clean 43/46 with flat EQ. . . . with a DD1. and i agree with he should DD1 or something. but it just gives him a safer idea than pretty much anything else. he can take it as he pleases....Get it scoped or DD1'ed yourself OP. I wouldn't trust someone elses numbers. Not every deck is IDENTICAL, hence the need the to scope your own or DD1 your own. I wouldn't trust a cheap ass deck to one unit before its max setting. I won't even trust my Kenwood eXceon units past 30/35 on HU volume, just to always be safe. My feeling is that there is NO way a Dual HU is safe at one click below max. NO WAY
-
yeah your safe at 43. . .keep in mind i did not do HLO so if your not using a 4 channel idk what those are. . . .and in mine if you go past the EQ, there is a sub volume control. you have like bass, treble, a few other things, then it says EQ is user, and sub level. just hit the same button a bunch of times lol
-
thanks man, and as far as sensors. wher should i put them. i like the viper becuase you can buy tilt sensers, volume senors(like breaking glass) and another one i forgot. . . with that being said. where should i put them when i get one? if i only had one senser whats the best one? and i have a 99 jeep grand cherkee. . . in the amp rack? (its like a cheap movable box) with high sensitivity?
-
OK so got my DD1 hers what i did. For every EQ setting, changing the treble all the way from -6 to +6. The deck always clips at 44 meaning 43 is safe.
For Bass, heres the safe numbers.
Bass Volume is always at 6/12
By turning the sub volume down (anything under 6) you don't gain any deck volume. By turning it up (past 6) you lose 1 volume unit every sub volume unit meaning. deck clips at 44 and sub at 6, deck clips at 43 and sub at 7 deck clips at 42 and sub at 8 and so on.
Bass EQ and safe volumes with sublevel at 6/12
-1 through -6 safe is 44
+1 safe is 42
+2 safe is 41
+3 safe is 39
+4 safe is 38
+5 safe is 36
+6 safe is 35
So as an end result. 1k safe at 43 and 40hz safe at 44 with sub volume at 6. I turned my sub volume to 7 that way my highs and lows get the most clean volume, at 43/46 Any questions let me know (: hope this helps

you have the 4 channel, you need a mono for the subs. . . . .unless u wanted to go with a 5 channelThank you everybody I will probably get another amp dedicated to just the speakers.
-
like get a mono amp. for best results. . . . but usually you can set the front and rear filters seperatly. . . so set the front at 60 like you said. and the rear to like idk 80 for lpf and that should do it yeah? whats the problem here. sorry if im just not understanding
-
His speakers have nothing to do with yours. At all. . . not even comparable. . . . whats powering what. the stock HU powering the speakers and the mono crunch amp powering the pioneer?
-
i guess you could try hifonics brutus. brand new, does rated, maybe not clean but it does way more than 400 so at least 400 should be clean. under budget, free shipping. http://www.amazon.com/Hifonics-Brutus-BRZ1200-1D-D-Class-Block/dp/B0036B8URK
