They are more geared for SPL vs the VVX-8. The Ma-8 is replacing the VVX-8 so you might want to keep that in mind when purchasing them!
Would you recommend the vvx or ma for a sq build?
-
Ive been told they are more of an SPL 8? Is that a true statement or totally false?I've installed2 MA 8's for a local guy he still tells me how much he loves em and how folks don't believe they're 8's good on the lows as well
-
i've liked the setup of MA-8s I heard but then again my opinion is a tad biased lol
Have you heard any vvx 8s?
-
Anyone else hear these subs?
-
I loved mine. Deff did not sound like 8s. Had them on an aq 1200
you got any pics of your set up??
-
Just wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with the SKAR AUDIO MA-8 subwoofer? It looks like a pretty beefy little 8" sub, ive noticed it being a little more expensive than the SA-8 but weighs alomost identical and looks identical! Any imput is appreciated, THANK YOU

This is awesome!! Haha love it
-
I have nothing but compliments with all my orders from here
-
Yeah definately some sort of bracing, and possible seperate chambers for each sub
-
Thanks man didnt even know you made this lol
Sorry they got broke
But hey you got your money back plus you get to play with them a bit lol
Still have your box sitting in my garage :/ hahaha no one wants it cuz its to "serious" and no one around here has serious shit

I have two all threads front to back and 1 dowel side to port. Who chose 1" dowels? Was it a money thing/customer thing? On those long side to side pieces I would have used all thread, and I'd never use smaller than 1.5" dowels, unless the distance is extremely short.
The largest dowel aviable was 1"

I have 3 braces in my entire box. That's for 4 N2'S and two 3500.1's and is holding up fine at 155 dB. I'd rather add layers of wood than start throwing in too many braces. You shouldn't need but 2, maybe 3 braces in that box(2 across, 1 top to bottom) if the box is designed/built right.
Looks like the customer wanted a lot of bracing anyways. Not sure why.
As would i.. this is only double layered on the top and would flex without bracing. With 2x4s you would only need 2 maybe three at tops thats probably what you have but the customer wanted these instead. Actually he wanted metal rods but my local farm and fleet did not have them

it is no way my fucking fault you use a shitty blackberry to read your emails... and cant figure out how to download .pdf files
i assumed you where smart enough to do that....
i have txt messages that i can upload that PROVE you said 5-7 db
stop being a fucking idiot... i told you two weeks from may 14th the LAST txt message i got from you was "ok sounds good"
that bracing in MY box design is more than enough....
ill say it one more time.. i couldnt open the pictures cuz the phone wouldnt let me! not becaue i dont know how? I never once said 5-7 db i said 5 and meant .5 i just forgot the "." i also told you that. I could never see the bracing you wanted or anything so i went ahead and braced it because these are not 2x4s they are only wooden dowels an inch thick.. now that everything is changed and how you want it you can look at the pictures i sent you and reply.
-
Holy fucking bracing..... hell even the original design went overboard on bracing.
I'm sorry but we aren't dealing with kicker CVXs here... These are 15" Fi ssds and are a little more powerful than a cvx and weighs about 2x as much I'm not saying they are the most badass subs ever but they need bracing to keep this box sturdy
-
Not to get in the middle of what is probably a mess, but...
...the box should have been built to the customers exact specs----unless you had his approval to change something.
If the customer's specs were at all unclear, you should have clarified them before making a single cut.
That's just how business should be done.
He sent pictures and I did not get them so everything I did was off of just measurements. We changed stuff around cuz we talked about it but that whole long message he sent half of the things in it were lies he is trying to get you guys on his side on this one and it sure does make me look pretty bad... That ticks me off
-
Please compare these boxes mine has no sanding done because i dont know what he wants yet and the bracing is on hold due to no responses back.
-
somebody give some input on the 4th picture down of my bracing i had into this box.. does it looks like it needs that or his picture of bracing. I think we all know it needs this bracing..
-
And can I mention there was no set due date to pick this up the correct information is that I would hold it till you got money so I put it off did another box first cuz you needed to wait then when I nail gunned my finger which I told you about I was put on hold for a bit.
-
The port length is exactly what you wanted it to be sir.. And please no false information you know I said 5 meaning .5 because I mis typed and I told you about that.. I never said 5-7 db higher guaranteed don't know where you heard that. Then I put bracing in this to hold it up so its not blown to shit from your subs I never could "open" your pictures my phone wouldn't let me.. That's not my fault. The box now is changed to how you wanted it just need to finish the bracing that you wanted. Other than that everything is good.

Its for bear gri11z so look at his stuff i think he has a blazer im not sure tho..
-
I see. Well, no harm no foul I suppose.
But yeah you are right it would have looked much better if i could have used the router for the bottom part..
-
I would have cut the sub holes with the same tool you cut the double baffle with. Other than that, the design looks good.
i used the same tool it just wouldnt fit with this certain bit on it so i had to free hand it.. it pissed me off but that hole wont be seen with the sub in it. But i wish the router bit would have worked with that top baffle on but it did not..
-
build for 4 15" fi ssd subs, this build turned out pretty nice and this is not done i just took the top off and all bracing out because of miscommunication with the buyer he wants the 4 subs over the port not away.

And i think thats why you're as prestigious as you are! If you weren't a perfectionist, nothing would look the way it does! Which explains the tahoe, esclade, civic, lexus, and whatever else you have. It all is FLAWLESS which inspires everyone else to do great things to their vehicles. I know you inspired me, and many others! Thanks Steve!
