  1. a good friend of mine is gettin rid of a bunch of his old car audio stuff and has offered me an mtx 15" dvc (not sure on ohms) sub, an ported box for it, a sealed box for it, and an atomic(i think?) 750watt 4/3/2/1 channel amp to go with it for $75, and none of it had been used all that much.

my question is, do you think it's worth it?

and i know mtx is pretty much shit, and ive never heard of atomic before, but its almost too good of a price.

  2. well.. i have stock cat and flowmaster 40 exhaust.. can i still do that soapstone thing ? just watch where it stops burning ?

you can still do it, i was just saying thats how we did it on the race cars.

but yea put your muffler closest you can to the motor, and then off of that do the soapstone trick for the optimum pipe length for your motor, and remember every motor is different, so someone else might need longer pipe or shorter pipe and have the same exact motor

  3. heres what you need to do if you wanna run straight pipes.

put your pipe on the headers, and take some soap stone and draw a line from the collectors on down the length of the pipe.

then crank it up and run it till its up to temperature.

it will burn the soapstone off until a certain point.

where it stops is where you cut the pipe off, then thats the length of pipe that your motor will run the best on and have the correct backpressure.

we used to do this on racecars when we wanted to run an exhaust system instead of open headers.

hope this will help, and the gas mileage, im not too sure whether it will help or hurt it, but this way is the best way to get the most power gains from your exhaust.
