Link not working for me. Sad face
-
My first thought was rear diff. It's real easy to look in there. It's like 12 bolts and some gasket material.
-
Not an expert but looks good To me. That is the same ratio i am going with, 2:1. I am in the process of building a 4th order. Really pumped to hear one of these things. You going to start a build log?
-
Thanks for all the input. They all have similar voltage so I should be good to go.
-
 if you went to a shop and asked if they could install a pair of door speakers you already had (didnt buy from them) and they said no it must be a new purchase would you be fucking on here asking this. the hell is wrong with people cant see past a little slimeball sales scheme these days. And for simplicity sake yes as long as all your batterys are in working order and the same shit then you can run them new or used fuck do you people need to be bottle fed
my bad grim didn't mean to screw up your forum. Next time I ask a question and you think it's dumb maybe you can tell me how you really feel. Get over it and thanks for your input.

I would but an AQ3500d.1 can be found used for $600 shipped which is great bang for the buck. But you need to think of electrical first. You will need at least a 200+ amp alternator and a nice 100AH battery. The electrical you need will cost more than the amp.

In my honest opinion I think an L7 as nice as it is might push your budget over the edge. What I mean by that is the sub is roughly 230 and to run it a kicker zx 1500 is around 400. But if you are set on a L7 do it and maybe find an amp that is a little cheaper like 1000rms. And I think you building your own box is a great idea. That's my favorite part of installing my system.
-
If you happen to stumble across a t4000 you will def. need a high output alt and batteries to be on the safe side. When you go big, you have to pay. Just found all this out myself. Good luck with your build.

Must be talking about agm batteries. Yes its best to use all agm prefreably all the same brand.
Well I have three yellow top optima batteries and wanted to use them and they told me I couldnt unless they were new
-
So my local stereo shop tells me I need all new batteries when using them together. For example, if I were running only one spare batt it would be ok that it was a used battery. However when doing multiple batteries they say you must use all new batteries so they don't draw down from one another?? I'm confused because as far as I know no two batteries are going to have the exact same voltage. So what is the difference if they are new as long as they all are good?

thats about all I've found as well, it seems like its a guess and check kinda thing....
Thats why I suggested maybe doing a removable port so you can get you port tuning right. And if you decide to go with a 3:1 ratio that tends to make for a paekier box. So it would be less musical.
-
I think the box ratio is good. I have seen several 4 th order boxes loaded with the subs firing towards the port and they worked well. I am curious what you are going for. Spl? Or a daily driver? If a daily driver I would try and design it with a tunable port. I will give you muck better chance of getting the port how you want it without rebuilding your box.

Nice truck! Now you have to build something
-
Don't think it will fit in your trunk. If it does I'm guessing you will have to build it in the trunk. Go no back seat and wall it! Lol go big.
-
I have a 270 amp alt, stock bat up front and a C&D Hi rate 100ah battery in back and a small Kinetik 25ah cap battery in back and I can bang all day with it at 2ohm. I would get a couple more batteries in back before I went full tilt at 1ohm.
I'm going to run that 270 and my stock alt. and 3 batts. In the bed of my truck. I just don't have enough money this weekend to get all my batteries.
-
That's what I figured.
-
Just so I'm in the know what are the risks of running low voltage?
-
Sounds good.
-
What if I add an extra yellow top for now. It would help a little. And I have an extra one.
-
I would wait for batteries but that's just me.
Can you wire to a higher ohm load until you get more electrical?
Yes I can. I will be running 2 dual 4 ohm Orion HCCA's.
-
So I am starting my build this weekend and I don't think I will have enough $$ to buy all the batteries I need. So my question is, is it safe to run my rockford t4000.1 on just my 270amp alt with my single red top. I am going to be picking up another battery in a few weeks but if I finish my box I would like to run my amp. Is it safe?
-
I'm just curious what a qualifying order is, lol.
I am also curious?? I have to shops in town that might be interested.

Looking at that sanitarium build, how is that considered a 4th order? It doest look like any part of it sealed playing to a ported sections. Wouldnt this really be called a really huge horn becuase it is basically a huge port? Im not saying anything is wrong with what he did, I just trying to figure out how that was considered a 4th.
The original box he made was a 6th order. None of it is sealed like you said. But if you follow the thread all the way to the end you will see he rebuilt his box and made a 4th order.

I would be willing to bet if you wire your subs to 2 ohms and te amp is only seeing 1 your protect issues may go away. When your amp is cutting off have you ever touched it to see how warm it is?

I am surprised it has taken as long as it has. Isn't the sound quality from a cd better than downloaded files? Any ways. Great CD/album glad I ordered mine #78.
