Im guessing as soon as you do the big 3 you've voided your waranty for electrical.

You could always take it in and see what it would cost to fix.

whats weird is things ive read say the suspension is very stiff out of the box on this brand of sub. You may want to check the spider to see if it still connected properly also. Yeah kranny knows his shit.
-
Damn man that sucks ass
-
Just wondering if the subwoofer wires are the same length from amp and if they werent would it make any difference? You may want to put them on an ohm meter and make sure they both have the same resistance as well.

I got the deh80-prs also, only head unit in the price range with burr brown dac.

I googled baffle board images and this was one of them. Be interesting to see what it sounds like.
-
like this?
-
Like i said man in the old days everyone with a trunk ran baffle boards, probably not competitors but people on the street. At the time they sounded good because no one knew any different. If you can figure out how to address the issue of trunk flex, may sound good.

4th orders sound really good when built right. Not sure if its any good for spl, but it would sure sound good because you arent going to have the rattles that subs facing the rear of a car would have.
-
we used to use those in the early 90's in cars with trunks, they use to just call them baffle boards back then. Mount the subs to a board facing the seats and seal the trunk. Compared to now, they rattle the shit out of trunk even though its sealed. I guess you could build it someway that it wouldnt rattle but it wouldnt be easy.

I agree with this.First you have to realize that you're not going to get very high output out of it, and probably will max out at 200 watts in a ported box (at most depending on the driver you choose).
That being said you can run it sealed in pretty much any enclosure. PE is pretty good about supplying T&S parameters.
As far as using a 6.5 as a subwoofer, with that little airspace, you COULD port it, but your output would be low under 40 hz, even if you tuned it low.
Your best bet is just to seal the enclosure and fill it with fiberfill, it will give you the best and cleanest response for your airspace. Even if you dont have the correct TS, it takes a lot to be off by that much in a sealed box.
With the top down I dont even know if you could hear it.
Pinoeer makes a small under the seat powered enclosure with a passive radiator that may be better suited to your situation.

Wouldnt any amp thats underated seem more efficient?
-
Zapco has a 22k watt amp
-
Im guessing if just adding more magnets made the subs better, they would have done it at the factory.
-
Is it possible to just call the manufacturer and have them give you the volumes?

I think he needs to fix his ground also, but i dont think thats what his problem is, he said he removed the cd player hooked it strait to the amp and it worked fine until he re-installed it.
Why is that?.seat belt bolt is a terrible ground
At least remove the carpet where it screws down, and clean up any paint on the metal so it has a clean contact. If the ground is your issue it should clean it up pretty easy. If not and nothing else fixes it try moving it to a better ground location.

So you pulled the cd player out of the mounting location, hooked it strait to the amp with different rca cables and it played fine. But when you re mounted it, it started acting up again. I am wondering if possibly you are messing up the rca connection when you mount it. Is there enough room for the rca's to not get pulled when you install it in the dash? I have used black tape to tape rca connections before, sounds ghetto but i was having a loose rca issue.

If i remember la sound was one of the low quality brands like pyramid.
-
Im kind of suprised they would let you do an install also, alot of companys would usually want you to do it their way.
-
Yeah you could see through it at night if the light inside is brighter then the outside, thats why in police lineups the witnesses are always in a darkroom behind the glass.
