The MAX you'll see out of those amps is 1400watts and I doubt you'll ever get there. Save up the dough and get a SAX1200 :-P

What sub/s are you trying to power?

Idk if you NEED 1500watts @1ohm, but if you do I wouldn't go with either of these. I'm no expert in either brand but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. So I'd either bump up your budget 100-200$ for that amount of Watts, or go with a high quality amp that you KNOW will give you clean rated power.

I'd like a little of both lol. I ain't gonna be regularly competing, but I'd like to go into the lanes at least once and put up some respectable #'s. What I want is to be able to be around 140db and still have the best sq possible. Getting that loud is pretty hard it seems, even with the backseat out in my 01 Park Ave

Planning on building a box soon for my SA12s and I was hoping for some help on the design.. How many ft^3 should I give em? And what's a good tuning that will give me good sq for daily listening (mostly rap) and still put up good numbers in terms of spl? As of right now I only have a JL 500/1 But I'll be upgrading to a 1200-1500watt amp hopefully by the end of June.

I did some rough measurements and I'm pretty sure you're right on with 1.25ft^3 (minus woofer displacement). Wayyyyy too fuckin small. Also I think it's tuned to 38-40hz. Thanks for that design pic too. Got it saved and I probably will use it. You just saved me a whole lotta time hahaha.

I want good sq but would also like to put up some good numbers.. know for sure I'm doing slot ported and its going in the trunk of my 01 Park Ave if that matters

I currently have 2 SA12s on a JL 500/1 in a p.o.s. prefab box. I have some money coming soon so I wanna know, should I get a good box made first, or buy a bigger amp? That is if I can't afford both at the same time.
