  1. Will having my gain up and my subwoofer lvl turn down be the same as turning my gain down and turning my subwoofer lvl up? Like I have my subwoofer set to 0 now and my gain is a about half way up wouldn't it be the same as turning my gain to
  2. I've got a kvt 516 I've always kept it between -5 and 0 ive always kept it there figuring it would be better to not totally abuse the sub but if turning the subwoofer lvl all the way up won't do any more damage to it than I'll turn it up and I'll check one of the shops around here and see if they have anything get my gain right
  3. My subwoofer bass level is set to 0 my loud is on so do I need to turn my gain down?
  4. K so right now with 1 sub and the 1 1000 watt amp I have everything perfect so is it safe to turn my gain all the way up? It's only half way up right now
  5. Well I've got a Memphis pr 1000 watt amp my plan was to get a second amp and just run 1 amp to each sub here is the amp I got http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10349_Memphis-16-PR1.1000.html
  6. Alright so what does that mean ive never understood what the ohm ment I understand that lower is better but what does that it mean performance wise
  7. I pulled the sub out turned the dmm to 200 and got a ohm reading of 2
  8. Sup guys I've got 1 re se 15 and I was on eBay today looking to get a second one. I bought this sub 2 years ago I think, at the time all I knew about car audio was it louder than my 2 pr12s lol. I'm starting to get more into car audio wanting to get into bigger and better builds. While I was was looking for a second one I noticed there were 4 ohms and 2 ohms and I honestly have no clue what mine is or how to tell. I'm guessing it's a 2 ohm but I don't wanna order a second one and find out the bass is different is there a way to tell? When i bought this 15 i had no clue how to do the wiring or anything so on of my friends did the wiring for me and I think he said he wired it to 1 ohm if anyone can help me understand this stuff more I'll greatly appreciate it
  9. anyone got some suggestions on what the best comp set is for under 200 dollars? i used to have a 2 memphis comp sets in my old car i thought they sounded great but i'm looking for something different now. i have an RE 15 so i thought about getting some RE comp sets but i've looked around and some people are saying that RE's products aren't as good as they used to be so i'm not really sure if i wanna spend that kind of money on a brand that sucks now.
  10. it's a kenwood ktv-526 and i have rca's ran down the driver side and power and Remote down the otherside when i said i ran rca down the middle i ment for a test not like they are actually ran there
  11. well first off i took my CD player out again this morning and taped up my rca cables when i pulled out the player one was like half on. then i went to back of my car and started cuttting carpet and sanded what i could for a new ground i drilled a hole beside it but honestly it's the exact same thing so i didn't bother switching them but i still have the pulse. i noticed that when the car is started is when i have the worst pulse if the key is turned over it's a very quite pulse when its on you can actually feel some vibration with no music playing at all. here is the picture of the current ground with the carpet cut around it and the one below it is the hole i drilled
  12. yeah while i was at the audio store i pulled my cd player out borrowed their rca cables and ran the cables from the cd player over my seats into the amp and it worked fine when i got home i pulled everything up and re ran the new rca cables and it worked fine for a few hours. i didn't even have the bass on and the pulse came back. and it's a very tight inside the dash when i push the huge as wiring harness back in the dash so it may be that and honestly i don't care if it 'ghetto' or not who the hell is gonna see inside my dash lol. not sure if this helps or not when i start the car up the bass hits and when do sharp turns the bass hits thats what they were fighting about at the store one said it's fine and the other said it's the worst spot ever.
  13. well were it's grounded to i haven't pulled the carpet up so it's not grounded to the frame in my old car it was grounded to the bottem of the seat belt and i put a new set of RCA cables in and it still has the pulse. could it be the carpet around the screw is whats messing with it?
