  1. Sup guys I've got 1 re se 15 and I was on eBay today looking to get a second one. I bought this sub 2 years ago I think, at the time all I knew about car audio was it louder than my 2 pr12s lol. I'm starting to get more into car audio wanting to get into bigger and better builds. While I was was looking for a second one I noticed there were 4 ohms and 2 ohms and I honestly have no clue what mine is or how to tell. I'm guessing it's a 2 ohm but I don't wanna order a second one and find out the bass is different is there a way to tell?

When i bought this 15 i had no clue how to do the wiring or anything so on of my friends did the wiring for me and I think he said he wired it to 1 ohm if anyone can help me understand this stuff more I'll greatly appreciate it

  2. anyone got some suggestions on what the best comp set is for under 200 dollars? i used to have a 2 memphis comp sets in my old car i thought they sounded great but i'm looking for something different now. i have an RE 15 so i thought about getting some RE comp sets but i've looked around and some people are saying that RE's products aren't as good as they used to be so i'm not really sure if i wanna spend that kind of money on a brand that sucks now.

  3. Run a new ground wire for your headunit. I can almost guarantee you that's the problem. Either run the line off the negative terminal of your battery to the headunit or use a self-tapping screw into a bare metal spot. What brand of headunit do you have? Pioneer is known for having issues with pulses/white noise through the RCA's. Also make sure that your RCA's are ran on the opposite side of the car from your power wires (for example: power wires on driver's side and RCA's on passenger side). Running your RCA's down the middle of your car can also put feedback in the line (apparently from the transmission). Run that new ground and let us know what happens.

it's a kenwood ktv-526 and i have rca's ran down the driver side and power and Remote down the otherside when i said i ran rca down the middle i ment for a test not like they are actually ran there

  4. well first off i took my CD player out again this morning and taped up my rca cables when i pulled out the player one was like half on. then i went to back of my car and started cuttting carpet and sanded what i could for a new ground i drilled a hole beside it but honestly it's the exact same thing so i didn't bother switching them but i still have the pulse. i noticed that when the car is started is when i have the worst pulse if the key is turned over it's a very quite pulse when its on you can actually feel some vibration with no music playing at all. here is the picture of the current ground with the carpet cut around it and the one below it is the hole i drilled

  5. So you pulled the cd player out of the mounting location, hooked it strait to the amp with different rca cables and it played fine. But when you re mounted it, it started acting up again. I am wondering if possibly you are messing up the rca connection when you mount it. Is there enough room for the rca's to not get pulled when you install it in the dash? I have used black tape to tape rca connections before, sounds ghetto but i was having a loose rca issue.

yeah while i was at the audio store i pulled my cd player out borrowed their rca cables and ran the cables from the cd player over my seats into the amp and it worked fine when i got home i pulled everything up and re ran the new rca cables and it worked fine for a few hours. i didn't even have the bass on and the pulse came back. and it's a very tight inside the dash when i push the huge as wiring harness back in the dash so it may be that and honestly i don't care if it 'ghetto' or not who the hell is gonna see inside my dash lol. not sure if this helps or not when i start the car up the bass hits and when do sharp turns the bass hits

seat belt bolt is a terrible ground

thats what they were fighting about at the store one said it's fine and the other said it's the worst spot ever.

  6. So i started my first build (where i done 90% of the work) a couple of days ago i've got a RE SC 15 with a 1000 watt memphis PR amp. i drove it for a day after i got all the wires ran everything was fine, well not i have a pulse in my sub. when i went to the car audio store to buy a new dash kit i asked one of my friends what the problem could be he said it was even the amp going bad, the RCA cables or a bad ground. i borrowed some RCA cables yanked out my CD player ran the cables from the cd player to the amp an there was no pulse when i remounted my cd player it was fine then the plus came back. anyone have ideas. the only thing i didn't do with this build is the ground wire and the wiring harness. The guy at the car audio store said i need to run the ground to the frame of my car and that is more than likely my problem but another employee said the ground is fine. i just don't wanna start cutting carpet if the ground location is fine

here are a couple pictures of the build right now
