  1. JoeX, Built that 1.5 cu ft ported box, night and day difference, exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks a lot!
  2. Yeah throw up the specs for a 1.25 cu too but I'll try the 1.5 first. Does that dimension need to be changed from 27 to 17in on the 1.5 though correct? Also, I'm hoping that this sub works well enough for me to keep it to stay all audison and hertz. If not, FI it is. Right now though the sub is in a sealed thats 1.81 cu ft which is WAY TO BIG. Also my voce amp does not have a infrasonic or subsonic filter on it. If I'm using the DD-1, wont I be safe setting the gain off of that?
  3. Umm also not sure if it was a typo but when I multiply 27x14x13 and divide by 1728 I get 2.84 cubes on the one you have at 1.5. If you change the 27 to 17, I get 1.79 which seams more reasonable if you also need to subtract the port volume correct?
  4. Well you think 33HZ is too low at that size? This is the first box I'll be building and just want it to be punchy but also hit lows on some hip hop songs that I also listen too, so I guess I'm just more concerned about damnaging my sub with the bigger box size or it being too boomy. All I know is right now it sounds like SHIT in the sealed box I have as its 16x16x16 which is way bigger than the recommended .75-1.0 sealed. So yeah I'd like dimensions for a 1.25cu box at maybe 35-38HZ unless you think 33HZ is ok.
  5. Would you mind throwing out there the specs in case I do NOT like the 1.5 cubes of a box with the recommended 1.25? Thatd be great.
  6. I'll try 33, if I don't like I'll build another box...what program you using to design these?
  7. Ok so to check head unit clipping just turn sub level all the way up, bass and treble at 0, plug either my r or l channel into the dd-1, play track 1 (40hz 0db) and turn it up until I get clipping, then back down a hair. Next, turn deck up to that volume, ground dd-1, connect positive probe to positive terminal on amp that goes to sub, and adjust gain while playing appropriate track correct?
  8. In reference to connecting to the rca's coming off deck, do I only connect the right channel to the dd-1? Then I don't ground the dd1 right?
  9. Can you do me one more design? Same sub 1.5 cu ft ported tuned to 28hz
  10. Well I turned off my bass and trouble, sub gain at 8 of 15 and put positive probe + to the + output off the amp and I cannot even detect signal of head unit so I did not even get to the gain lol. If I wanted to connect dd-1 to the rca's off deck instead, how do I connect the dd-1 to the rca's? And when finding deck clipping point do I have sub level at 0 or half?
