  1. It probably is prefab. Got it on craigslist and it came with that box. Just put in this new box i made at 34.5hz and it BUMPS. Loving it.
  2. Wait what...? The dimensions i gave are pretty much all you need because they are the same height as the box. From the figure you can know the cross-sectional area dimensions but not the length of the port, if it turns you need to measure along the center line (half the width) from the external end to the internal. "The port is just a 13" wall on either side, then there's a 4" extension that goes in like on any normal box." It is just a normal port that goes back, then in. 13" back, then the little extensions on either side are 4". Just like in the picture.

  4. Yea im not letting him touch it again. I thought he was good at tuning but clearly he's not.
  5. Last time i put it to 1050rms, my friend made one of the subs smoke. So im a little scared to do that haha. But i guess ill just watch my gains.
  6. Trunk of a 95 honda accord, big 3 upgrade, 2 rockford 12" punch p312d4's, and a soundstream 1050. I already have the box and everything hooked up i was just curious of the tuning before i put this new box in. My lows dont hit hard, but my highs do. 45hz sure explains that. The new box i build is at 34.5hz so hopefully this hits the lows better. Here's the new box and my trunks specs - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/144432-best-ported-box-design-for-two-rockford-p3-12s/
  7. Thats not the exact box, its just a pic of a box i found online with my specs on it so you guys can get a visual. It has a depth of 13" and then the extensions that go in are about 4".
  8. Hey i need help figuring out what this box is tuned to. Here are the dimensions. The port is just a 13" wall on either side, then there's a 4" extension that goes in like on any normal box. It's a really basic box so i figured you guys could figure it out for me. http://i.imgur.com/WM1yA.png Thanks!
  9. So how should i wire this? Right now i have them in both channels. They are 4ohm dvc subs, so i cant wire them to 2ohm bridged. So im pretty much stuck with either 2ohm 2ch or 4ohm bridged. Which should i do?
  10. So when its says 520rms, is it putting out 520rms per sub, or 520 to both and splitting the power? Thats all im confused on.
  11. Im actually making a new box today, i have another thread for that if any of you can help out with that too. http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 thanks man, i've actually been looking on this forum for a couple months now. never got around to making an account. I do have a lot to learn, but i just love nice cars and loud subs! so should i bridge it mono to 4ohm so its at 1050rms and just watch my gains, or use 2ch at 2ohm for 520rms? This is a daily driver, and i play the subs all the time so i dont want them to blow real easy. I have it at 2ohm right now and it hits pretty damn hard even with a terrible leaking and broken box.
  12. I have 2 Rockford P3 12's and a Soundstream 1050 amp. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_18706_Soundstream_XTA10502.aspx For the amp it says - RMS Power @ 4 ohm: 2 x 260 Watts RMS Power @ 2 ohm: 2 x 520 Watts RMS Power @ 4 ohm Mono: 1 x 1050 Watts And for the subs it says - Power Handling: Peak: 1000 watts RMS: 500 watts I wired the subs to 4ohm and put it mono on the amp. And im guessing my friend turned the gain up too much while he was trying to tune them and they started smoking out of the port. I turned them off as soon as i saw a little bit of smoke. Wired them to 2ohm and 2ch on the amp, and now they play fine (they just smell a little when played at full volume), but i can play them pretty loud and they still hit hard even when played for 10+ minutes straight. If you have 2 subs that are 500rms each. Would you use a 1000rms amp to power them properly, or 500rms? Im confused on how this works. And the box leaks air pretty bad, but they havn't fried since switching to 520rms about a week ago.
