  1. Look at that, someone decided to use that lump of grey matter between their ears.

x2. Not sure why people would want to wire to .5 if they aren't 1-a damn guru 2-willing to take the risk of losing potentially thousands of dollars (depends on amp and all that) and 3-if their setup is already loud for them. Me for example, I'd never want .5 ohms no matter the electrical or whatnot cause my system? Does me proud. Sure, may not be 150db but as someone said somewhere on here recently... if it's good for you, great. So although I'm not putting up those magical numbers like everyone, I also don't care since I like mine. So stupid to even try .5 if you're happy with your setup and such.

I can understand trying it for like a ride around the block just to see though, but hooking it up for good? Get outta here...

  2. thats a good way to keep my sanity ^^^ haha

I normally direct download between 13-18mb/s.... I just tried to download VLC and was downloading at 3.8kb/s my laptop is running fine as im using it at the moment to try figure this shit out and its on the same router

sometimes... rarelly but sometimes... sites go slow. I can download movies from putlocker at 1mb/s and at other times we're in the 120kb/s range. Download movies (roughly all the same size) in 10 minutes to 4 hours. (btw, good site to get movies from. just need the actual link of each movie since they don't have directory there)

  3. Any good wireless cards you can suggest? hah might start looking for a new one even though this one was working fine for months but has slowed down dramatically over the last month

    linksys >> dlink>> netgear

802.11N is the faster mainstream speed widely available currently still iirc.

But if your wireless router is older, even with a faster 802.11N wireless network card, you will only receive the speed and range of whatever your router is.

Since most network cards are backwards compatible with the older router speeds, but useless to buy the newer faster tech if your router isnt going to support those said speeds. So maybe worth something to look into also. ;)

True, but considering he did say it was fine for months and then has slowed... makes me think it's not the router. I've never heard of a router slow down. If it does 15mb/s down, always has done 15mb/s. It's the receiving end that usually screws up. But fact he did say that loses connection, maybe it is the router and it's connecting/disconnecting. Had that with mine the other day. Wired would work, wireless was a no-go. Unplugged, plugged back in, everything works now. And I somehow think he's tried that haha.

  4. You gotta think, is it just this site or is it the entire internet? If sometimes searching on google is slow, obviously it's the entire internet, which would then be your provider. But if this is fast for a few mins, then slow for a few mins... and the rest of the internet is fast? Nothing wrong with your provider. It's the site. So that's the only thing I was trying to bring up... that at times this site does basically crash for a minute or two, then acts like normal.

  5. Netgear is pretty good. As far as which one? No clue. My laptop came with built in wifi, and I have my desktop wired. No wireless for it, which has been a pain at times, but eh. I'd honestly go to a computer store (not Bob's computer shack, a place like microcenter) and they'll hook you up. If you don't wanna do that route, you could just go wherever electronics are sold and look at speeds. Obviously the more pricier, the better they perform...SUPPOSEDLY.

Edit: Ok so your in NZ, so not sure what they have for computer stores but a place that's big named and such. Not just a local podunk place

  6. Probably your wireless card cause I use 2 different computers and 2 different internets. I use my laptop both at home and work (the 2 different internets) and then sometimes use my desktop and laptop (have had SMD up on both at once a few times haha) and it's normally decently fast. I mean the whole page won't load in like .00002 sec, but 1-2 seconds. There are times where it literally takes like 2 minutes.

  7. You told me to F off!!! Lol just kidding. But no, that's what I think gives this forum a one up over every other forum. Everyone treats everyone maybe not as close family but at least distant family. If I'm having problems, I can ask and no matter how much a noob question it may be, I get help. So although a bit of a threadjack as never done business with you, all the comments people say, I would buy things from ya.

But I wanna know, where's my cpt morg? Can't do a shot without me! It's just unethical! haha.

  8. That's how I was. I was fine with the little rattles I had (not due to a wiper but just my trunk rattling). Then my tail light broke. That was enough. Got some second skin, asked for advice, did what I could. Obviously nothing like a pro but... wouldn't say bad for a first timer. Lol. And now, I truly think my tail light is nearly unbreakable. Take a hell of a lot more than what I have to break it.

  9. I also wanna throw in the fact that I believe it'd be the same for anyone, that if we were having problems and went to a shop, we would associate more with them. If I installed my own stuff and something just wasn't right and I went to a local shop around here, they fixed it, I would still try to do things myself but would ask them about things, maybe purchase stuff from them, etc.

I definitely would appreciate the fact that they took the time out of their schedule to not only fix it, but actually show me no matter how big or small the problem was. I think that's what put your service above your customer's expectations. You didn't just fix it, you showed and taught him things and without insulting him like "You are stupid! What a noob!". I mean how many of us have walked in somewhere and whether we know what we're talking about or not, seem to be told that we're stupid? Never go back there again.

It's people like you OP that we need. I'm not sure you charged the guy or not, so if you didn't, you technically lost money but you kept a client happy which in turn will pay it's rewards with him more than likely buying more of your equipment and recommending your brand. Everyone wants money to fix things and never takes the time to show or explain. "That crap sucks" "Why?" "Does"

  10. ASUS FTW. DLINK FTL. my other DLINK sucks too (at the shop). Time to get a new one there too.

give it time. in a year we need to dig up this thread and see how well it is working still

but yes i agree Dlink ftl...

Lol. I've owned Asus routers for a bit and never had problems. Every so often (maybe once every 5 months or something) you have to reboot it and such but that's good. Better than Steve doing his dlink twice a day, if not more.

And I agree Steve. Yelling at others for taking up bandwidth when you pay for so much, sucks. "I GOT INTERCEPTED BECAUSE YOU WANTED ON FACEBOOK? ARE YOU SERIOUS? FOR THAT, YOU'RE GROUNDED!" Lmfao.

  11. would also be cool to have like a RF sound van kinda deal, a demo monster than sounds good, gets loud, and is eye candy.

x2. Open up them doors, subs everywhere blastin. Things like that always make me think of pimp my ride. Always did unnecessary stuff like a dj turntable in the trunk and a "lab" in the front. Just put a monitor inside the car with a ps3, call it a day. But steve? Making a demo sound van? Oh god, might wanna re-inforce everything... building, walls of the van, pavement, everything. Van probably blow up during the demo, being 14 years old and all. I'd definitely love to see that.
