  1. Finished up the box and it turned out good and I am very impressed with the Fi Q12. I was surprised that I could get so much out of a single 12 especially in a truck. Thank you to everyone that provided ideas and input, I just thought I would share the end results.
  2. After everyone's input and playing around with the numbers a little longer, here is what I came up with. I raised the tuning up slightly to 34Hz, and got all the dimensions adjusted so the sub and port will both fit the rear face of the box (wow was that dumb). Here are the final specs... thanks again for everyone's help yesterday. Now it's time to make some saw dust..
  3. I just want to thank everyone for their help. I clearly overlooked a couple of simple things and by running this by the forum, I probably saved myself from a couple headaches and mistakes. Thanks to everyone for the input and the time you spent.
  4. I really appreciate the 3D modeling, but since we are going front firing (actually firing towards the rear seating in the quad cab, then we have to adjust the height to fit both the sub and the port. I might have to give up on my idea of using the stock armrest and just pad the top of the box as an armrest...?? The stock cover/armrest is about 3 inches tall, so as the height of the box keeps growing, I might have to go without the stock cover/armrest.
  5. Wow, I really can't believe that I overlooked something that simple in my original design ideas. That's enough to make a guy feel pretty stupid...
  6. Mikey - I really appreciate all your help Thanks again to everyone that has helped out with ideas, I truly appreciate everyone's ideas and comments. Spencer
  7. I wish I knew how to use a good sketching program, but since I do not, here is the basic concept. My question is, should I be concerned at all that I just have a long straight port versus an L shaped port?
  8. The amp will be Rockford T1500-1bdCP Oh yeah, and the rest of the Sub specs from Fi are: (Dual 2) DUAL 1 | DUAL 2 Fs: 34.2 Hz | 33.9 Hz Re: 0.7 Ohms/coil | 1.4 Ohms/coil Qms: 7.63 | 7.69 Qes: .39 | .39 Qts: .37 | .37 Mms: 249g | 253g Cms: 0.87mm/N | 0.87mm/N Sd: 481cm^2 | 481cm^2 Vas: 28.3 l | 28.3 l Spl: 86.5dB 1W/1m | 86.3dB 1W/1m Bl: 13.9 N/A | 19.65 N/A Xmax: 28mm Rms: 1500W Sealed box: .8-1.5 Ported box: 1.8-2.5 cuft @ 28-33Hz Sub OD: 12.500” Cut ID: 11.125” Mounting depth: 7.000” Displacement: 0.16cuft Thank you to everyone that has shared some ideas, I really appreciate everyones input. Spencer
  9. This will be filling the space where the Stock Center console used to fit, so this box is just slightly larger than the stock console. Unless I'm really misunderstanding your design, I don't believe it will fit my area. I also plan putting the stock center console cover or arm rest back on top of this box, so that things look pretty stock at first glance.
  10. I updated the Torres info, I had some sort of glitch before where it was showing two different depths. I appreciate any advice or suggestions that anyone is willing to share. Thanks, Spencer
  11. I am a new forum member and I have been lurking and reading all the great information on this forum for a while now. I am very impressed with the design knowlege of many of the members on this board, so I thought I would run my new sub box idea by some of the experts on the board. I do not have any experience using sketch tools, but I can explain my design easily and post the Torres box building specs. I am building a box to fit in the center console area of a Ford F250 Quad Cab, and I am planning on having the Sub and the Port fire back into the rear passenger area. The sub will be a Fi Q12 Dual 2 ohm. Fi recommends 1.8 - 2.5 cuft @ 28 - 33Hz for a ported box. Here are my couple of different ideas, please let me know your thoughts and let me know if you see any major pitfalls with my design. In one scenario I would use a L shaped port tuned to 30.5Hz and the other scenario would use a straight port tuned to 32.43Hz... Let me know your thoughts?
