  1. Guys I need help... I don't know anything about Boxes, Ports, Tuning, wiring or anything. I have a Rockford Fosgate P300 amp if this amp cant power 4 SA-8 v2's please tell me one that can or if id need more then one. The size of the boot is: Width: 32" Height: 18" Bottom Depth: 36" Top Depth: 28" So id imagine you would drop the height down so the subs will fit because I want them on the top, the back of the box will have to be slanted. Please some one tell me a design my dad is a Carpenter he can build anything out of wood if he has the dimensions. The port can be anywhere as long as I can feel the bass, I want it to be able to play low bass. My Head Unit is a Alpine CDA-9887R so also if that needs upgrading please let me know what to upgrade it to, as with anything else.
  2. The back of the box is slanted, and Strangeduck I haven't decided what to have I think my dad just wants a big box he can remove that is the size of his boot with 4 SA-8 v2's on top. Edit: So it would look how Steve has his, with the subs on top and the port in the middle.
  3. Strangeduck if I were to put 2 SA-8 v2's in would it be better then one Rockford Fosgate Punch P3S Shallow?
  4. Ok right now I am so confused on what to do, I don't want to give up because I want the best I can possibly have. Width: 32" Height: 14" Bottom Depth: 36" Top Depth: 28" So there is the dimensions to the boot I want 4 SA-8 v2's on top and where ever the port can go, also I want Deep but Punchy Bass if you understand what I mean, I don't just want to hear it I want to feel it. Like I have said many of times I know nothing about this stuff to I need as much help as I can get.
  5. I see but I cant design that because I don't know how, if you was to give me dimensions I could get the box made and also I want the subs on top and the slope is at the back. I don't know what tuning I would need all I know is I want a box: Width: 32" Height: 14" Bottom Depth: 36" Top Depth: 28" With some SA-8 v2's on top the port I want at the front so if I were to open the boot the port will be there so maybe have the port 1 or 2 inches from the top and how ever big it needs to be like I said I have no clue. Lets put 4 SA-8 v2's on top see how that works, would you spend some time and make a design with the dimensions?
  6. That helps, so shall I make a box of: Width: 32" Height: 14" Bottom Depth: 36" Top Depth: 28" That is the size of my dads boot except the height is 18", so if I were to make that my port could be at the front and the subs on the top like Steve has his?
  7. The picture above shows 2 8's but the back needs to be slanted so I failed and I don't know how to make one like that. If someone could take some time and could make a ported box design and gave me the dimensions my dad could build it no problem its just I don't know how to do it.
  8. Ok so mttornquist i just spent ages following your tutorial, indeed it helped me a lot but I put 2 depths then followed your design and at the very end I realise the back of my box is slanted so I cant follow your tutorial but I made a perfect box with the wrong dimensions. So basically Im back to square one I don't know how to make a ported box with a slanted back. Have a look at my FAIL:
  9. I was just reading around the forums and came across something about a T Line is that a Ported box because it was said to be good. The only ported box I know is Re Audio L Ported Box Calculator but Im not sure about the port sizes so I cant really use it.
  10. The box desplayed above is: Box Width = 32" Box Height = 14" Bottom Depth = 14" Top Depth = 6" Wood Thickness = 0.75" Total Box Volume = 1.875 ft^3 I think my dad is just gonna fill the boot with a box that he can remove to get to the tyre and the shopping will just have to else where. We only have one Rockford Fosgate P3S Shallow but i think we have decided to go with as many SA-8 v2's as we can, recommend any Amp at the moment we have a Rockford Fosgate P300, our head unit is Alpine CDA-9887R. Im not sure how to do Ported boxes, we just want as much bass as possible from them little 8" Monsters. If anyone comes up with a design that will work and will give out as much bass as possible please give the dimensions because my dad is a carpenter so he can build anything you throw at him. The size of the boot is: Width = 32" Height = 18" Bottom Depth = 36" Top Depth = 28"
  11. Please someone let me know if this is correct or if ported it better. This was my first time making on Google Sketch Up so please give ideas.
  12. Right I have spoken to a few people on a previous post about my dads BMW E36 M3 3.2 Evo and where things could be put. Well I figured by all the comments saying putting the subs on the rear shelf was a bad idea so I measured the boot and made sure I could still fit shopping and access the spare tyre. I have created a sealed box for 3 8" subs which were recommended (SA-8 v2) and the same sealed box but for 2 12" subs which would probably be 2 Rockford Fosgate P3S. However I am new to Google Sketch Up so it may look horrible and knowing my luck something wont fit but all measurements are correct for the boot of his car. Here are some pictures of the sealed box, if this is also bad then please give me some tips:
