  1. those subs'll work for sure..

like they said.. for cheap.. that hifonics 1200 amp is the one you want.$150+ subs for $60 = $210 is cheap for ANY amount of quality, if you want cheaper than that, just pursue a different interest lol

That isn't a bad price at all. That's pretty decent for a first system.

  2. Hey you can figure out the ohms without a dmm

just take them out of the box and check to see if the basket looks like this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/pictures_new.php?id=38105&picture_id=793697

or if it looks like this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/pictures_new.php?id=38104&picture_id=793662

notice the number of push terminals is what you are checking for

It looks just like the second picture. Does that mean single 4 ohm vc?

  3. Those subs are $150 EACH here.... http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_m351_i40_earthquake-sound-10-subwoofers.html

400 RMS isnt bad at all for the price. Definitely pick these up for the money. I would only get that amp if thats all you're gonna have to spend for a while. Otherwise, save up and look into something else In My Opnion

Alright, maybe I'll wait a little bit and do some more looking around and researching. Possibly find a good deal and see what I find out.

    Thanks

  5. Alright well I'm thinking I might get those subs because my brother is giving them to me for a good price, but I'll possibly look for a better amp to go with them. If the subs are power hungry than idk how well an 800 watt amp is going to hold up.

Also I will probably make a ported box for them with my friend Pro7 using medium density fiber board.

Sound good or are there any other suggestions?

  6. I am about to run 3 dbxi 12's and selling my type r 12's. The dbxi get pretty damn loud and move a ton of air. They have a decent motor if you want to recone them. For that price I would snag them. For power look at audiopipe apsm 1300 if they are the dvc version since they are 500rms woofers. The single voice coil subs have a larger 2.5"vc where as the dvc have 2 2"vc.

Then I would just build a new box since these subs like ported boxes but they can work in any design. That pioneer amp wont do much for these subs honestly they seem to be power hungry.

  7. Hey guys, I'm looking to buy my first system. I have an oppurtunity to buy two 10" Earthquake dbxi's for $60 in a prefab sealed box. Not sure of the voice coil configuration yet but I can figure it out soon. I'm also able to buy an 800 watt Pioneer amp for $50.

I was wondering if that setup would be a good system to start off with and possibly cost effective.

Any other comments or suggestions would be appreciated because I'm sort of a beginner at this stuff.
