Hey Guys, 1st post. Anyway, I was tuning my wife's system with the DD-1. I was able to tune the sub amp and deck without issue. When testing my McIntosh MCC446 6 channel amp, I came across something that I haven't seen before. I have it set in 4 channel mode meaning channels 1&2 and 3&4 are bridged. Those tuned fine. Channel 5 also tuned fine. When trying to adjust the gain on Channel 6, I received no signal on the positive terminal. For the heck of it, I touched the positive probe on the negative terminal and got a signal and was able to tune it also. To double check that the amp was working correctly, I switch from 4 channel mode to six channel mode. After switching the rca's around, I found the same results on channels 2 and 4. The positive terminal is essential dead (no signal), but the negative has a signal. When in bridged mode I plug the speaker wires on channel 1 positive terminal and channel 2 negative terminal. I assume that channel 1 positive terminal is out of phase compared to channel 2 negative terminal. Can anyone confirm this with experience with similar McIntosh amplifiers? I bought this amp about 15 years ago, so maybe their technology has changed drastically since then. Thanks for the feedback.
