  1. I still dont think the 3100 will fit there even with a modified tray and laying it on its side. Its about 3" longer then the 3400 and the 3400 barely clears the hood due to the "slope" of the hood. But you never know, try it and let us know

Maybe there is just a subtle difference between the Yukon and Escalade in how the hood is shaped there? Dunno. I should have taken a pic when I test fit it in there. Couldn't leave the battery there, though, because I wasn't able to secure it at the moment. It fits for sure, just need to fab up something custom. I know I can't be the first one to do this?

  2. Why can't you put the other 2 bats in the rear?

Might be better in the rear having the batts closer to the amps

Believe it or not, I actually drag race my Escy. NHRA does not allow batteries of any type inside the vehicle unless they are in a sealed, vented box, or behind a sealed firewall. Also, I tow my REAL race car with the truck, so between the sub box and the tongue weight of the trailer, I'm trying to keep from putting more weight in the rear.

Pic racing with the old 22" wheels on it....

  3. Hey all. So, I'm thinking that putting 3 D3100s under the hood of a Tahoe/Escalade is a do-able task. Just wanted to see if anyone has pics they can post of how they mounted the batteries on the passenger side. I already have the first D3100 mounted under hood in the stock location. Pic below. I think I already have an idea of how I want to do it, but I'd love to see if others have done something I may not have thought of before I start cutting and welding.

Below is a pic of the passenger side under hood. I am certain I can get a second D3100 up next to the firewall if I move my radiator overflow forward about an inch if I lay it on it's side and make a bracket strong enough to withstand the weight. I am thinking the third D3100 will go where the air filter inlet is now. I'll just need to shorten the tube a bit and move the air cleaner out of the way.

So, any ideas and pics of your mounting technique would be appreciated.

  4. Why would you want to run their stickers if the company themselves dont want to give you any? Stickers aren't cheap to make and it adds to the bottom line, I get that. I've made them before in bulk and I think they were about $0.75 each when ordering 300 or so. So I get that companies may not want to send stickers out with every item purchased anymore just so a guy can stick them on his toolbox or not stick them anywhere. But if you are running their product and you ask them for them and they won't send you any, then why would you want to fly their colors so much? I agree with what the one guy said above about going to office depot and making them yourself.....if you really need them that bad. Not busting your balls OP, just saying I'd let the company decide if I rep their shit or not by whether they gave me any or not.

  5. Bought a D3100 battery from Kyle. Shipping was extremely fast and the price was great! Unfortunately, UPS didn't handle it so carefully and dropped it on it's corner somewhere along the way, damaging the case significantly. It might still be useable, but rather that worry about it's usability or argue about the degree of damage, Kyle instantly refunded my money. 100% stand-up guy!! Would definitely work with him again!

    Thanks,

Found out last night that ALL was just taken care of. I couldnt be happier. I was actually impressed with UPS as well,......... that kinda hurt to say.. lol....

So, no harm, no foul in any way..... Thanks.

Good to hear that UPS took took care of you.

A person is not measured by how they act when things go according to plan. A person is measured by how they act when the shit hits the fan...especially when money is involved. You, my friend, could not have handled things more professionally. I'm glad it all worked out for you in the end.

  6. Ok, here's a super-newbie question. I don't have any deadening material in my truck other than what comes stock on an 06 Escalade.I have no rattling other than the rear window wiper that I can hear while playing, but obviously no dampening will help that. Truck SEEMS really solid, but I honestly don't know what to REALLY look for. How do I know when I need deadening? How do I know when I have enough?

people usually get it to avoid rattles ..

So, no rattles=no deadener needed? That'd be great. I don't plan to get much louder than I am, just whatever fixing my electrical gains me, so then the only way I'd need it is if parts start working their way into rattling over time from 150db blasts.
