  1. This might be a product that hardly anyone on this forum will need but i think some people somewhere will. Some people might have an old set of 6x9's in the rear deck and may want to put some 6.5's in, and this should do the trick. For a lot of us here we probably don't need them but as far as having more inventory to sell, it is always good to have variety. Even though i don't really see a lot of people ordering these, they were fun to design, fun to make and it never hurts to have lots of stuff to choose from in my online store. I plan on doing 6.5 to 5.25 adapters as well. Those and anything else i can think of that i can do on the CNC. They aren't officially "for sale" yet as i am DEEP in black friday weekend and swamped...but they will be up soon.

    Anyhow, check out the pics!

Oh, also, now that i am done making these adapter plates, i have no need for the Kenwood by-nines. Does anyone here TRULY need them? Like don't say yes if you don't have a use for them...but if you do, speak up! first person to claim them and actually have a use for them, will get a tracking number tomorrow. :)

    Very nice Steve!!

  2. I have been putting a lot of hours into this since i got my new CNC and it is finally coming together. It's amazing how getting the holes JUST RIGHT on the VU-din was such a pain. Getting this stuff to snap together tightly and fit PERFECTLY into a single din slot took some time. I learned a new trick in the CAD program that helped me a lot and then getting a digital micrometer also helped a ton. I guess it is harder than i thought to see 1000th of an inch with the naked eye :D

Anyway, i will announce when it will be available, what colors it will be available in and of course what the price will be. It will be as cheap as i can possibly make it but just to let everyone know a 4x4 sheet of 3/8" ABS is about $140 bucks and the 3/8" Acrylic is right around the same. I will probably offer it with different color housings, with or without the "Stainless" look, and also the customer will be able to choose an MDF outer ring instead of the ABS. Just in case he wants to glass it in place. If you glass the MDF ring (see below pics, the ABS will be MDF), you can just pop in the insert and be done with it!

Here are some pics. Note- i had this extra single din opening from i THINK a Tahoe or my sons Yukon. It makes a perfect template to work from.

Let me know when you have a prototype ready need one for the 2016 SQL season asap! Looks great!!!
