  1. well, i'm saving up and will soon be able to buy something. :D no matter what i get, i'll be getting one of the DAT 2500.1 amps. it's just going in my moms minivan so i'm not going for amazing. but should i get 2 12's or 1 15? if i get 1 15" then it will be a DC level 5 because then i'll take that out and put it in my truck whenever i may get it. if i get 2 12's, idk what i'll get. now, i know cone area wins, but i'm not going for cone area. just which do you think would be better for a little banging here and there?

and if i decide to get 2 12's, what 12's should i get? i don't want something way pricey like L7's or something. just 2 12's that could handle 2500 and sound good.

IMO for the money there is NO way to beat Orion HCCA. they handle tons of power and can take a beating. I would get 2 12's myself. Make sure you power them with lots of Wattage.

These ones are last years models but they are $300 cheaper EACH! http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9861_O...-HCCA12.2-.html

  2. So I am going to build and enclosure for my chevy K1500 single cab. I have figured my NET internal dimensions will put me around 2.4 ^3 and I have 2) Orion HCCA 10.2 with 2000w between the two subs.

I am having trouble getting the correct port length for proper tuning Fq. Some of the mmore simple port calculators tell me with a port 1.5x12" I would need it roughly 12.5" long to achieve 38hz.

I also have the WinISD beta program and its showing 8.78 port length to achieve 38hz tuning.

    Anybody have any ideas?

  3. I just bought an orion hcca 12" and I am having a guy help me design it using "bass box pro" software. He has told me that the speaker has a very narrow bandwidth, which he says won't give me tight accurate bass out of a ported box (which is what I expected). I told him that I listen to mostly rap, then he said "oh your gonna love it then"

The biggest thing is to design the box for the sub with some good software. Because the output will be incredible! Oh ya and I'm gonna put 2000w RMS on one 12 so i'll see how it holds up. I'm sure that it will take all of that power and more. Its a beast of a sub! Orion recommends that power for one speaker is 1200w-4000w.

I know a lot of people are in love with Fi and after seeing Steve's "Hoe" I am very impressed to say the least!! Be different get the Orion. Check out this vid I found its 2 Orion 12's with 2500w to each.

  4. Anyone know where to get these things at? I have a Audio control Matrix line driver and its got a 33hz subsonic filter or a PFM as they call it and I wanna go lower I think? I don't know where to get them... I'm planning on running one Orion HCCa 12 off an earthquake ph-d2 2000w rms and I think my box will be tuned at 35hz. Don't I need a lower freq for my subsonic filter??? <_<

  5. yeah go with that.... thats how I would do it.....

while your at it take the motor out of your ride too and see how well that works.....

Say What, yo man I think your Confuzzled bra, if you take the magnet off, the woofer wont work anymore lol

get the t-5, there is no way a SPLX will fit in that small of a BOX, I know I had some and they dont like sealed Enclosures.

sorry i had to laugh lol. i hope is has a magnet cover that adds some depth to is.... if not then.... idk lmao!

    no magnet ftw!!! NOT!

I'm taking the motor out of my car this weekend I'm just gonna push it everywhere... GEEEEZ hasn't anyone heard of sarcasm???

  6. I'm working in a single cab pickup using a small sealed box .8^3 for each of 2 12's with 1000w rms to each sub . It looks like soundstream subs will work in this small of a box. I am wondering if I should go with the t-5's or splx. I really don't care about sq I just want it to flex and bang hard. I realize that a small sealed box suks but this is what I have to work with. Are the splx's worth the extra money?
