Question would 73sq inches of port be to much for the 18? I was getting wicked box rise with my 6" port I know it was to small, I took it out and put a 8" port in and gain alot. So if I did a 10" port would it make that much of a difference? It's powered by an aq2200.

That's good to know as I am about to upgrade my alt in my lt1 camaro. Considering my red line is 7k, and I idle at 700.

I got a video up on youtube. just search my user name pdx94z28. I have 5 layers in the box with 2 of those layers being 1708 kytex. I could stand on the box with no top. The top has 3 layers right now, i'm going to put another layer of kytex on it. I haven't noticed any box flex at all. I will say I'm glad I did glass the box it sounds amazing. I can't wait to turn the amps with my dd-1 and go find a place it can let it loose.

iwas going to do a 15 but every thing in this car is over the top so I got the 18. I have drown out the motor anyway, 450rwhp gets a little loud.

it will pound like already said keep the power clean. they are really good solid subs, I have the zvx 18 in 4.5 cuft tuned to 29hz and it wangs hard.

well sorry I haven't updated any thing in a while been working way to much. I got some new photos almost got it all done this weekend.

sorry for the lack of updates I've been working to much overtime. I'm back at it this weekend. I just picked up 15 yards of 1.5oz mat and 5+yards of 1708 kytex with a couple gallons of resin. I'm still deciding on ports, should I do 2 6" ports or 4 4" ports? I have around 4-4.5 after displacement and i'm trying to tune to around 30hz. Also if I put a 90 degree bend in the port will it affect the output much? I could make the box a bigger if needed.

I had a bright idea, I should try and shoehorn a ZVX 18 in the hatch of a 94 Camaro Z28. If anyone has seen the trunk area of a 4th gen camaro you probably feel my pain. I have to give a big thank you to Ryan, he hooked me and my nephew up.
I started the box building process today. I have to fiberglass the entire trunk area to get the air space I want. I'll be pushing the ZVX 18 with a Hifonics Brutus Elite 2500.1. I will be using 1/0 KnuKonceptz ofc and there 8 ga ofc for speaker wire. I'm not sure on batteries yet but i'm leaning towards the deka's. I have a Phoenix gold Ryval v754 running my door speakers which are just some kenwood 3-ways for now going to be getting the VXI components. This is going to be a fun little system when its done. pictures to follow shortly

well I decided to go out and get a video of the car with the 8" port to see if there was much of a difference and oh yeah there was. Please tell me what you guys think. I'm sill debating on going to a 10" port but it would have to come out the side of the box.
