  1. the sae 1200d is kind of a budget version from sundown. rated for 1200 rms at 1 ohm off of 12.8 volts.

saz1000d will do over 1300 rms at 1 ohm.

if forget where audioque is made. i think china. DJ's son own digital designs so same people that make DD's stuff i think.

12.4 volts at a true 1 ohm load will probably only be 1000 rms, maybe. (why the low voltage?)

i don't care for hifonics because they have become a cheap company in my mind. i never liked anything i used from them.

All AQ amps are made in South Korea. The AQ1200D does 1200 watts @ [email protected]<1%thd, 1470 watts @ 5% thd

  2. ok thanks maybe some one else will chim in here an give there knowledge.. i have a few days before i wana order a amp..

AQ 1200D, AQ2200D and AQ3500D strap at 2 ohms. If you have 4-D2 subs wire then series/par to a one ohm load and pick an amp with the right power range at one ohm. With box impedance rise the AQ3500D would be the best choice of the AQ amps.

  3. From what I hear their motors are quite similar to AQ HDC3's and DD 9500's.

If you get a recone from either of those companies, you would have a monster sub.

Those motors are worth $100 apiece themselves, I say get them.

AQ sells recones or parts for AQ subs only as a customer service. Our recones will not fit American bass HD, Konaki or Zapco motors. If you really need a recone for one of those we will sell you one. They range in price from $199-$340 and come with a new motor and basket with a AQ dust cap.

  4. do you ever allow your clip light to just blink just a lil? is that ok? i know that when it is fully light its clipping., but just a little flashin ok?

If the clip led just flashes with the frequency changes in the music that's OK, if it glows solid you are into clipping

  5. my friend asked me for suggestions for a system. he can spend $700 and he said hes gonna keep the stock HU for now and the stock speakers. he has a 2006 nissan sentra. he doesnt care about sq. he has fold down seats. he doesnt want to lose his back seats but hes willing to lose the whole trunk. i'm gonna build the box for him and hes gonna have a shop install the system for him. the shop charged him $150 for the last install he had. so that leaves him $550 for subs and an amp. what kind of subs and amps do you think we should get for $550.

Two Audioque SDC2.512's and a AQ1200D will get him in the mid 140's for a tad over $550

  6. its in a 92 lx mustang 2.3 lit. so the alt is pretty wimpy like 75 amp or something like that

and yea the saz 1500 caught my eye ive heard alot about it but it is very pricy i heard somethings about the audioques as well

could the 15 handle the AQ 2200d?

The AQ2200D might be a bit much for the BL but you should be OK if you gain it down some.

  7. well i just went up to 2 15" AQ SDC2.5's. so i can get a 2000W amp and it'll work good. but i may just have to wait until summer when i get my normal job to get it all because the 2 15's will be $320. but i'll probably go with just a 2000W amp.

The AQ1200D was designed around the SDC2.5 series; it does 1470 watts at 1 ohm which is all you need for a pair of SDC2.515"s. The AQ2200D cranks out arount 2500 watts at 1ohm

i already talk to DJ and he saids its not cover because i compete...even tho my VC isnt burnt, peeling or making any noises..

i guess i might try my luck with 1 12 at the next comp.. on 2 hk401sx's :)

Nice pictures, they show what happens when you overdrive/overpower a sub well beyond its design excursion limits. I assume you had a gp3000d on each sub. We must have very good coils and cooling as the coil looks in very good condition. The glue joint didn't fail either, you overdrove /unloaded the sub one too many times and ripped the spiders into. The HDC series is almost impossible to bottom out, you will rip the spiders into before you do that. There are two layers of spiders in the HDC3 suspension package with each upper and lower layer having 4 spiders for a total of 8 spiders. You have to do some serious over excursion to rip them.

You are correct in that I don't warranty ripped spiders or burnt voice coils and I don't know of anyone else that does either. For guys that compete and push well past the design limits of the equipment I offer drop-in recone kits for all our subs at very reasonable prices, under $60 for the HDC315.

  9. would the different recones give better sound quality from them? ive always been told DD's are pure bass machines and RE's are more of an all around. DD's would look cool right behind my head though.

anyone know the costs of the dd and re recones? accordman says that for the dd's are a 9500 recone, which RE would that be? thanks, im really interested in a wall with four of these in my probe/celica when i get the celica running.

DD and AQ only sell recone kits as a service to their customers. You must be in their customer base and provide the serial number of the DD/AQ sub you want the recone for. If you bought an AQ sub second hand you must provide a dated picture of the sub with the serial number in the picture. If you bought a used DD sub you can have it reconed at your dealer or send it into DD. If you want a AQ recone kit and cannot provide the required proof of ownership you can still buy a recone kit; it will cost you more but it will have a basket and motor attached.
