  1. All AQ amps are made in South Korea. The AQ1200D does 1200 watts @ [email protected]<1%thd, 1470 watts @ 5% thd
  2. AQ 1200D, AQ2200D and AQ3500D strap at 2 ohms. If you have 4-D2 subs wire then series/par to a one ohm load and pick an amp with the right power range at one ohm. With box impedance rise the AQ3500D would be the best choice of the AQ amps.
  3. AQ sells recones or parts for AQ subs only as a customer service. Our recones will not fit American bass HD, Konaki or Zapco motors. If you really need a recone for one of those we will sell you one. They range in price from $199-$340 and come with a new motor and basket with a AQ dust cap.
  4. Congrads to Cliff Beal on the 155.1 legal on the dash score in MidWestSPL last night in Joplin MO. 4-AQHDC312 copper coils on 4-AQ2200D's
  5. If the clip led just flashes with the frequency changes in the music that's OK, if it glows solid you are into clipping
  6. Two Audioque SDC2.512's and a AQ1200D will get him in the mid 140's for a tad over $550
  7. The AQ2200D might be a bit much for the BL but you should be OK if you gain it down some.
  8. The AQ1200D was designed around the SDC2.5 series; it does 1470 watts at 1 ohm which is all you need for a pair of SDC2.515"s. The AQ2200D cranks out arount 2500 watts at 1ohm
  9. Nice pictures, they show what happens when you overdrive/overpower a sub well beyond its design excursion limits. I assume you had a gp3000d on each sub. We must have very good coils and cooling as the coil looks in very good condition. The glue joint didn't fail either, you overdrove /unloaded the sub one too many times and ripped the spiders into. The HDC series is almost impossible to bottom out, you will rip the spiders into before you do that. There are two layers of spiders in the HDC3 suspension package with each upper and lower layer having 4 spiders for a total of 8 spiders. You have to do some serious over excursion to rip them. You are correct in that I don't warranty ripped spiders or burnt voice coils and I don't know of anyone else that does either. For guys that compete and push well past the design limits of the equipment I offer drop-in recone kits for all our subs at very reasonable prices, under $60 for the HDC315.
  10. DD and AQ only sell recone kits as a service to their customers. You must be in their customer base and provide the serial number of the DD/AQ sub you want the recone for. If you bought an AQ sub second hand you must provide a dated picture of the sub with the serial number in the picture. If you bought a used DD sub you can have it reconed at your dealer or send it into DD. If you want a AQ recone kit and cannot provide the required proof of ownership you can still buy a recone kit; it will cost you more but it will have a basket and motor attached.
