  1. Washington DC vs. Heller

The Supreme Court issued their ruling today in regard to this case. Basically, Washington DC has a 31-32 year old ban on the ownership of handguns. Mr. Heller (a resident) sued DC for violation of his constitutional rights. After a long run, the Supreme Court issued a ruling that his 2nd amendment rights had indeed been violated and that the ban on handguns cannot exist without infringing upon peoples right to bear arms. Therefore, the ban is now toast! Much more than just a ban being destroyed, is the fact that the Supreme Court has never issued an interpretation of the 2nd amendment. This has always left a lot of room for arguement over issues concerning firearms. They ruled in favor of individual rights to keep and bear arms. As I understand it, the NRA is now busy filing suits across the country using this decision as their "ammo" to try to kick out a whole bunch of other bans and control laws. With this decision by the Supreme Court, it will be almost impossible for many of these bans and laws to hold up.

So, in short, a big victory for those of us who value our freedoms in this country.

  2. I apologize if I am posting on a topic that already has a thread going but I did not find one in my searches.

I assume that most people hear have heard the decision that the United States Supreme Court has made in regard to gun rights and so I am merely posting up to say THANK GOD!!!! What a step in the right direction.

This is going to have a massive affect on any gun control case from here on out. The NRA is already filing suits across the country to fight other gun control crap now that there is US Supreme Court backing.

    YES!!!!

  3. Gracias.

Well, nothing really good in the way of pics for an update but I have a new laptop and ECM Tuning should have my new DSM Link tuning system is on its way. So, by the end of this weekend, I should be running 28psi on E-85. It will be a couple of weeks before I can get to a dyno. Unless something happens before then, my wife will be having a C-section on Monday 6/30 and I will be a first time father. I will be spending the next few weeks getting to know my son.

  4. Don't worry so much about those mutual funds. Unless you are on the verge of retirement or already retired, this has little bearing. Really, I try to take advantage of times like this and buy more than you usually would or buy now rather than later in the month (if you buy monthly). I assume that you are in it for the long term since I really don't see mutual funds as a big "hot stock" for the quick buck kind of people.

Most wise investors should make it through this alright.

  5. Thanks. I don't know the exact specs on the turbo. It started out as a Hahn Racecraft Super 20G. Forced Performance in Mckinney did a custom job on it and the exact specs, compressor maps, etc. were not made available. I was told to refer to it as a "Really super 20G".

It will make a dyno soon, but I am just a few steps away from even driving it still. I was able to fire it up for the first time since the install began just the other day. It sounded wicked for sure. I won't be able to work on it again until Thursday or Friday but I hope to put it on the road before the weekend is finished.

On my last one (the black 2g that I've posted before) I was able to pull a best of 394awhp and 401lb/ft. That was on a sleeper 16g from FP. I hope to be able to pass those numbers just a bit on pump gas and crush them running e-85. :P

With that being said, I'm really having trouble lately, longing for my old 2g. Damn that car was pretty. I should have never sold it. :(

  6. Thanks. Sadly, I haven't even driven it since I took it down to begin all of the upgrades. I was running stock boost up until this point. It is my intention to tune for 12psi driver mode and switch to 28psi when its time to go. I am setting up to run on e-85.

Yesterday was the first time that I've started it up in a long time. It's almost ready to hit the road. For some strange reason, despite the fact that there are an insane amount of bolt on turbos made for these cars, I ended piecing together a custom setup. It should be worth it when I'm done.

  7. It sounds like you have it covered.

Just to throw in my .02. I can tell you that in regard to the suggestion made about having member packages, free/vip something like that, I would have no problem paying fair dues or making a fair donation to obtain the good status.

I am a "Premium Donator" on a racing forum that does something like this:

Free = basic membership, you can post, read posts, no classified access until __ number of posts, and editing is only an option for 20 minutes from the time you post something.

Donator = sigs and avitars enabled, post editing allowed any time, access to classified section granted (this is nice to keep scum out of the classifieds), and 18+ access (if applicable)

Just throwing that out. Good luck to you and David in however you are handling it. I just want to let you know that I would join the "donators" group and I bet some others would too.
