  1. Yes sir. My home consumed 4 (2 solar, 2 utility) and then the solar exported 3. The late evening and night time was all utility power and this morning wasn't much for the solar power because it was really dark and overcast but it cleared up after a little bit. I was home around 12:30 and I had the same results as yesterday except the solar only exported 2kwh.
  2. Yes, except most inverters are not going to cooperate. You could use a transfer switch but the inverters that are intended for standard grid-interaction are setup to shutdown without the grid. I suppose that they figure if someone wants backup power, they will use a battery backup system in which case, the inverter would have a built in transfer switch for such instances.
  3. Close, except for one thing. Since I didn't go with a battery backup system, I lose the solar power if the utility power goes out. To meet the UL listing requirements, the inverter has to shut down within 2 seconds of losing utility power. It is a safety requirement. Otherwise, your solar can actually feed back onto the dead utility lines and quite possibly hurt or kill a utility lineman that is working on lines that are supposed to be dead.
  4. Yep. Now the "tide" will turn back and forth as each day goes by and we opted for this size system based on a lot of factors but also knowing that it isn't likely to delete our electric bill completely. We also took the steps that we could to allow for an easy and fairly cheap upgrades to the solar system size. I'm going to wait a bit and see how things go. In a few months, we'll see.
  5. Just a quick update. Oncor switched out my meter to a "net" meter yesterday which was the final step required to begin making my own power. I read the meter before I left for work today and then again just now as I came home for lunch. My home's utility usage - 2kwh My home's solar usage - 2kwh The power I exported - 3kwh I love it.
  6. That system on my house was $19,600 with tax before any incentives but I get a check from Oncor for $6050 and a $5880 tax credit so its not that bad. On top of that, my house had to have a full electrical service update done to allow for the solar so mine was a bit more expensive than what is typical. In southeast Texas, I would recommend us. We cover all of Texas.
  7. My company is working on a website right now. It will probably be a couple of weeks before it is up and running. I can check with our renewable energy network and see if there is a reputable company in your area.
  8. Thanks. It is a grid-interconnected solar photovoltaic system. The beauty is that it operates without batteries which significantly reduces the cost and the hassle. The solar system is the dominant power system and it is either utilized to serve the loads in the home or feeds back onto the utility grid if it generates any excess power and it is sold back to my retail electric provider. At night, or at times when the load is greater than what the solar system is generating, my normal utility service supplements it as necessary. The modules have a 5 year warranty against defects, etc., plus a 10 year warranty that guarantees 90% their rated power and a 25 year warranty for 80% of their rated power.
  9. I have not been very active with my posting, mostly because I don't typically post unless I have something specifically important or helpful to add to a thread. I've seen a few topics touching on the subject of solar power for audio and it doesn't seem like there is much there yet, at least nothing practical. Finally, however, it seems that solar on the home is now becoming financially practical. So, at work, given the change in the way many things have been going these days, we have decided to adapt in the best way we know how. So, for some off topic sharing: My house - This is my company's most recent solar project, installed 7/2/2009 We left the rails long to allow me to add two more modules at a later date One of our customers' hay barn - Installed 6/30/2009 Thanks for checking it out.
  10. Mods, please feel free to lock this up. Thanks.
  11. This amp is no longer available. Thanks.
  12. Wow, you really have been deprived. I wouldn't believe that anyone in the United States had never had a Dr. Pepper but I have a brother that lived in Queens for 10 years. The first time I visited him we went to a small diner and when the waiter asked what I wanted to drink and I asked for a Dr. Pepper, he looked at me like an alien sticking out of my head. I had not realized that Dr. Pepper was pretty much a Texas thing. I know that the other states have it but not like it is here. I would suggest trying one.
  13. Damn! What are you trying to stop? A train? Seriously though, sweet choice.
  14. The majority of the fights on that card were great fights. Being in Cote's situation right now and dealing with likely surgery and the recovery - Fuck that!
  15. Build your enclosure based on your sub and what you are trying to do with it. Just sticking or cutting ports into a sealed box is probably not going to do much for you.
  16. Yeah, but I really can't think of any other time that I remember seeing him bleed. I'm sure I have but I really can't remember. I do remember very well how much blood Kosaka spilled when Fedor got a chance at him again in a Pride fight. I kind of felt bad for him.
  17. If I remember correctly, didn't Kosaka swing an elbow that caught him in the cut causing it to open back up?
  18. Kohsaka is the one person who is responsible for his loss. It is really crap though. It was a King of Rings tournament (old school style) and Kohsaka opened up his eye with an elbow (illegal in that tournament). The fight was stopped immediately to disqualify him for throwing the illegal elbow. Then the docs said that Fedor was going to need stitches. This would not have been a cut bad enough to stop a fight but since he was going to be sitting around waiting for the next fight and then sitting around waiting for the next fight, etc. the docs called him unfit to fight and the loss went on his record. Its okay though. He met up with him again in a Pride fight. He beat Kohsaka relentlessly until the ref was about to stop it then pulled back and let him get up. This was repeated until the ring docs called the fight. It was pure punishment and not really sportsman-like but I can't say I blame him. The guy ruined a perfect record with a damn illegal elbow. Hong Man Choi - I kind of agree. Fedor was outmatched with strength for sure but I won't call it luck with the armbar. That is one of the many things that makes him great. The armbar was a key move for a lot of fighter until the whole fight world knew it and knew how to fight out of it. Now, only a few select people are able to pull them off regularly. Fedor is one of them. I know it took him two attempts in that fight but I will vote more for skill than luck. I am surprised he didn't work more on delivering more shots right out of the gate with HMC though. I think he learned from that (fighting such a big ass guy) and that is why he came out of the gate rocking Silvia's world so that in the event that Silvia might have been able to over power him, he nipped that problem in the bud. I've been watching this guy and singing about how awesome he is for a long time. All the newly subscribed UFC fans (that really don't know shit about MMA) all think that what happens in the UFC rules the earth. The UFC doesn't always have the best. Sorry Dana White! FEDOR EMELIANENKO - FTW!
  19. Have you ever seen Fedor fight before? Not meant rude, just wondering.
  20. It took Emelianenko 36 seconds to completely destroy Tim Silvia. Silvia was not even able to connect with so much as a love tap. It was absolute devestation. FEDOR EMELIANENKO IS THE MAN!!!!!
  21. Matt Lindland Vs. Fabio Negao Lindland - win (kind of) Negao - loss (both of them should have) Not a very good fight at all. It started strong and turned to crap quick. Decision. Mark Hominick vs. Savant Young Hominick submits Young w/ an armbar.
  22. Will do. I might get a bit behind. I'm getting too caught up in the fights.
  23. Antonio Rodgerio Nogueira vs Edwin Dewees Nogueira - Win Dewees - Loss TKO in round one via punches!!!
