Just wondering if you can clue us in on the "right" way to do it with a DMM, or point to a thread that explains it. I tried to search for "set gain" but it doesn't like short search terms.

Somehow, this seems like a BAD idea...

I've thought about mounting an amp inside the box but haven't tried it because it would require a lot of teardown and rebuild at this point to rerun the wires. I have a wall with 2 15's, the amps are mounted in the back hatch area and there is no way for air to get back there to keep them cool (ya, I could probably rig up some a/c ducts running through the box to the back?), but I have very little space left up front to mount any amps so inside the box is the only place I could think where they would get air. I guess on the surface it sounds like a stupid question and may be a waste of time, but that's my reasoning for wanting to try it someday.

They look really bright, good job!

Not sure if you tried this with the external monitor connected but on my 5150, I have to FN F8 to switch between the laptop display and my external - I assume the 5100 is the same?
PM me if you want to sell that laptop, I dropped mine and need some parts...

I've been really happy with them (2 lvl3 15s). Will be happier after I get a couple more batteries in and can turn the amp up past 1/4.

I've been running some Lvl3 15's for about a week and aside from being great subs, Rusty has been great to work with.

I have 2 sets of DSE216 (MB Quart 6.5" & tweets), running about 400 watts to them and love the SQ.

Around 8 to 9, do you still have to pick up a rider.
No riders for me on this trip. Will have an empty seat on the way down if you know anybody that needs a ride .... but ... I'm going to spend a few extra days in FL to visit family so I can only offer a one way ticket.
I think I95 is about 3 hours from here...
-
BFB... you still gonna try to meet up for the drive to FL.
Yup, just let me know when you're leaving and I'll meet you. Might have to leave here 4-5am but I'm up for it....

I got some play time with a meter this week and hit a 150.4 with 2 CVR 15's and a RF1500.1 @ 1ohm, it was about all they could handle, but they handled it.
EDIT: box is 8 cubes @ 37hz

Good job, I've always liked the tint spray better than plastic covers.
I sprayed mine when I lived in Florida and it lasted over 3 years without a clear coat.

Nice looking truck for $2800....I vote ported as well.

I'l throw something out there, this site has over 3,300 members, everytime I log on there's between 120-300 people online, night or day.
Without searching too hard the only way of donating which I can see is on the main page, surely if it was a easier to find more people might be tempted to donate? maybe a mass PM inviting donations might provide as much revenue as one or two banners, and a lot less work too?
The amount of knowledge on here is staggering, just think of how many installs the members must have under their belt altogether surely a couple of quid (or dollars, whatever ) isn't too much to ask, not like you'd be twisting peoples arms for it? (I'm sure a lot of newer members such as myself probably don't know where/how or even if they can donate)

I finally got some money in my paypal account this weekend and had to go searching for the link to throw some towards the SMD Hooker and Beer fund. I never did find it on the forums but I remembered seeing the link on SMD.com.
