  2. no problem man thats what we're here for. Deffinately gonna want a ported enclosure.
  3. 4 12's in a buick. damn that would be loud. well how much u have to spend on subs then? ad what kinda buick?
  4. its basically personal preference. ive had a sealed enclosure for a while then i recently built a ported one. and all i can say is im not going back to a sealed enclosure. ported is better in my opinion.
  5. shit, lol. does anyone know how many amps could possibly be going through that wire? cant be that many.
  6. lol nope prolly not. but when that box came with the subs in it, it was like christmas morning. i was soo happy lol.
  7. the switch i have is 6amps. but a toggle switch would work. where can i get one? and how much would they be?
  8. lol that site WONT screw u over. i bought my 2 ALpine Type R's there. and they are perfectly fine. shipping took a while tho cuz the place is in california and i live in New York lol.
  9. lol , yea, hopefully someone can help me figure out how many amps the switch should be.
  10. if u scroll down on the page that amp is on. it tells u the rms range.it says 300-600 watts. so if u set the gains right u can power that sub just fine. its not too big of a amp. it should be fine.
  11. lol the amp any good? will it power my alpine type r's?. They are 500watts RMS EACH. so i want a amp that will give them around that each sub. but for that cheap i figure ahhh what the hell.
  12. X2 id go with that amp 2 if i was u. is a good match for the sub.
  13. Get a amp that matches the RMS of the subwoofer. and depending on the brand, some subs can be over powered some cant. so over power them a little at ur OWN RISK. be carefull over powering them if your going to. i wouldnt just becauseim not sure if the sub can take it.
  14. oh another thing about the wiring. the switch i have is only a 6amp switch. how many amps go through the remote turn on wire? i dont wanna fry the switch lol.
  15. ive got a POS amp that my friend bought and cant use cuz his subs were stolen its a Pyramid. heres a link to the same amp. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-PYRAMID...1QQcmdZViewItem Im buying it from him for 20 bucks. hesnever used it. it should be enough to power my 2 Type r's pretty good. better than no amp lol.
  16. lol ok i got 2 ppl saying remote wire.....thats good. ill wait and get couple more ppl to reply then ill go cutting wires lol. i cant cut wires for a while anyways. ( just bought a 2600 watt amp from a friend for cheap but i needed a amp. and my cars broken. the clutch went so its in the shop )
  17. Ok, i have a switch ( simple on off switch ) and i wanted to use it to put in the line somewhere so i can hit it to turn the amp on or off if i need 2. My question is where would i put the switch? in the remote turn on wire or the power wire?. ive gotten mixed answers so maybe someone could clarify that for me? thanks to all that help in advance. Anyone know how many amps the switch should be? cuz i dont wanna fry the switch.
  18. Yea i vote the Q...for your case id go with that.
  19. My cars tupperware?....sick...lol jk jk. it wont work on y car i know. damn plastic covers. but u have a point if u can push it out why use that stuff?.....and ifs a a small dent go get a hammer and dolly and some filler and paint and fix it urself. not that hard lol.
  20. If i was you just do what i did and post a new topic asking if someone can build u a enclosure that is 2.0 cubic feet, ported, and tuned to 32hz and im sure someone can sen u something. that will be pretty loud for ya.
  21. Ur very welcome for the help man. thse ppl on this thread have helped me through alot and its time i do some helping. just read threads and ull learn alot too. anyways ssds are Fi audio subs. They are really good subs for the price u pay for them.
  22. yea thats a good idea...we just need a amount that he has to work with. but those sub ideas wouldwork pretty well with the amp hes got.
  23. one of the reasons i recomended building an enclosure lol.
  24. well if u can give me a ball park range of what u can spend i can help with the best bang for your buck on subs. and if i were u i would buy some materials and make a enclosue that meets the specs of the subs u have ( or the ones ur gonna buy )
