There should be several MECA shows in Louisville throughout the year. Shows will pop up on the calendar once they're planned.

Will they frown on you for running small fuses? No. How do you think some of us are getting big #'s in a low class?

you should be able to determine which class by reading this... thats how i did it...
im running a 60a fuse... if i were to drop it to a 40a fuse i would drop down a class... but fuck it... its a learning experience, its points for the team, and its what i love to do... so its kinda a win win situation no matter weather i win or lose...
If you ever got any questions I could help you out some. I'm not on here too much, however.

Yeah, it's a MECA event. Unfortunately, I won't be going.

You can register and become a MECA member at the show. I actually re-register my member status @ Casper, every year. I think it's $20 for new members. You only need to register as a member if you want to accumulate points towards going to World Finals. If you only plan on doing Carl Caspers, then a membership isn't needed.

Ryan should be competing both nights and I don't think that Andy will compete, but will be there.

We can do 149's and 150's with single 15's in SUV's.

You'll have to man. We'll be rolling pretty deep at Caspers; I think that we'll have at least 8 cars. We'll have some surprises this year:)

First, you need to have access to a meter. Second, you need to spend some time with that meter. The only way to get loud numbers is to spend time on the meter and getting creative with how to modify the inside of your car to aid with increasing sound pressure. Remember, you have to satisfy what the car wants.
Some ideas:
Play with opening windows and door. Generally (not always), the car is loudest with the door shut and window up on the side where the meter is. It's also generally louder on the side of the car where the sub is (I have experienced the opposite, however).
Design your boxes where the sub is as far from the opening of the port as possible. Loud boxes also tend to have a lot of port area and long ports. But again, I have seen the opposite.
Play with the port and sub firing direction. This has a lot to do with scores, usually.
Remember to think for yourself and try everything. Take note of peoples advice, but at the same time don't take what they say as correct. Bad advice has frequently been give to me.

Make sure that you have adequate port area, because port area is good
I also don't feel that the amount of cone area you're wanting is necessary for that truck. But, if that's what you want then that's what you want.

The sealed box thing is a waste of time. Play a sweep at a moderate volume (not too high to risk breaking anything, but not too low) to get a feel for what frequency range you are loud in. Once you get an idea, it's time to play frequencies in that range at full tilt. You must remember that your frequency can change with different setups, tuning, and also power. In my experience, more power often times raises the note.
