  1. Well my car is in the paint booth and now that it's all taken a part I figured I might as well smoke out my tailights and turn indicators, my question is, how have you all done it and what have been your results? i'm looking to get a glossy finish as if they came blacked out stock, I want to make them as dark as possible without completely ruining the transparency of the lights, and what paint have you used? is there a specific type of paint to smoke lights? what's your favorite type of paint if you have done it?

Best way for me has been using black toner mixed with intercoat clear and clearcoat afterwards...

I'll post some pics in a few minutes, I just gotta track em down...

  2. Yeah, I was kidding about the filler. They'll probably cut out part of the quarter and weld in a replacement section.

Body damage is a nightmare. I'm still fixing mine, and it's been almost two years. <_<

Alot of the shops that do work for cheap use this method. They would rather slap a bunch of filler and shape it rather than to spend the time and work the metal itself.Hence the saying you get what you pay for!

  3. I could fix that with one can of filler in less than 4 hours. :noob:

But looking closer at those pics I see now that the quarter panel is warped and creased pretty far back. OUCH.

I wouldn't want that much body filler on a whole car let alone just the corner and the door.

But hey, not saying that there aint mickey-mouse shops that do this kinda bs work.

I doubt that N8 would let this happen!
