  1. I made it to SBN with some rear window problems in the wagon to make matters worse I couldn't read my navigation after a couple bassrace runs the back window started failing to close and the actuator broke... so we moved my entire build the night before qualifying to Jakes Escalade. With a car I have never bassraced before and an overnight build....it pulled off a win in the 149 class lol I tied team prodigy 3 times but only have a video of one of them. 4 axis 15s on two american bass 500.1s burping over a 154 and bassracing 153's with no problem (40-44hz) frankie rios tie in the 159 class a box chevy with 12 12s in it good FLEX
  2. Someone on here asked me to post this for sale I did this build for a co worker of mine at the machine shop I work at and needless to say he could only pay half of it off so I had to play REPO man. After I tuned the box I had his explorer capable of doing to 149 class and burping over a 152 legal @ 44hz on two batteries and a stock alt off what you see here. The vehicle was deadened only in the rear (back door) The SPL enclosure with the aero ports and the woofers are for sale. I will get pictures up tonight with dates on everything. Woofers are still in damn near new condition and don't feel or show any sign of wear yet (coils are still reading same resistance they did out of the box) For anyone that wants real 150's that owns a small SUV that likes 44hz (blazer new and old explorers etc.) this is the perfect setup. Type R Drivers alone - $230 plus actual shipping/paypal fees for the pair (they were bought new for 400) local pickup on resined birch enclosure with ports $ 140 local pickup on drivers w/ box - $ 350
  3. 1500 RMS would handle 2500 watts quite easily though... Please be advised, the coil I used in the driver is not the LMS coil in a regular LMT. It is a tc3000/axis coil. The larger LMT motor provides more motor force and boosts BL so this driver is better then an axis in some aspects without the loss of efficiency from an LMS coil.
  4. Nice job on comparing SPL Your test results show a strong difference between amplifiers IMO It had more to do with electrical losses caused from the higher amperage draw of the larger amplifiers. Keep in mind every time you add power your reactive changes and every amp is usually going to be the strongest at a certain resistance after reactive (meaning a higher impedance is not always a bad thing). After reactive I have seen several amps be the strongest around 1.7-2 ohms. I remember Skip01 on another forum did a direct swap with a 500.1 and a 200.1 and there was only tenths that separated the two amplifiers (like .4db)...made perfect sense to me for one mostly due to electrical. Clamp these amps sometime for power and do a reactive load test. I am going to with a 1500D and a 3000D sometime this week.
  5. Hopefully this is helpful to you guys. I have now done a test in three different applications where the woofer was mounted normal, loudest score was recorded and then the woofers were inverted and the score was recorded. In every single vehicle (one SUV, my wagon, and a trunk car) the score with the woofer inverted was not as strong. I wanted to try this because I felt the baskets on the tc3000/axis/lighting audio storm/lmt/rls was poorly designed and thought it might be causing some kind of turbulence with airflow. Test results said I was wrong Keep in mind though I still think it may be application specific. (larger box with the sub inverted should pull the note down but it is to a very minute degree since there is such a small change in airspace) As to weather or not that lower note will work the the vehicle...well that is why it is application specific. Some of the loudest street scores at finals have been done with inverted woofers....that also does not mean the score wouldn't have been louder if the woofers were mounted normal either. The amount of port area needed in such a small enclosure leaves some competitors no choice.
  6. I have a fresh dual 2 ohm RLS 15 I need to part with for funds on one of my builds. It has never seen power. I have at least 350 in parts for this woofer because I had to buy a blown LMT to just get the motor. I would like to just get my money back on parts at this point so the price will be 350 plus actual shipping.
  7. thats common with larger vehicles 30hz is my second loudest peak have not checked if 25-29hz is any louder because I lost my damn db jams cd. I am guessing 28 or 29 are though because it just kept getting louder going down from 35
  8. keep in mind 41hz is also the loudest frequency in meades truck....and you guys see the reactions that he gets. 41hz must be a common large vehicle thing, that where the wagon wants to play
  9. if rays hummer is bassracing a 157 then it gets do a point where it has to hurt. I asked tommy if he can read the mic sitting in his truck for the 159 class....haha and he said no. the judge at finals that sat in perillos van when it bass raced a 161 said his sides hurt really bad, I am sure it messes with your breathing.....would all depend on the frequency. trap or die is 41hz
  10. I have only done three windshields so far With the frequency being higher (46 instead of 35 and 43 with the daily setup) it helps slow the cracking down. I got some new cracks during practice at the shop but you know how that goes. Once a small crack starts its over..If I have the funds before finals I will put a new one in. the transmission control unit broke from it beating against my front firewall all these years. Still working on getting that fixed. The car likes to get stuck in second gear sometimes because of it. I put a new one in and it is still acting funny (I have to get the new one reprogrammed to the transmission) other then that the car is still running strong.
  11. I don't really start getting on it until towards the end. Vehicle peaks on 46hz now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTe57n8ShTM 155's legal charged with two amps in right now other two amps going back in tomorrow for world finals Should have 5-6 Db of headroom in the 149.9 Class
  12. the old enclosure burped a 152.1 on 43hz with one 18 on and one amp because it was a common chamber design. I found with this enclosure the passenger side is .7db louder then driverside
  13. thanks aiming for a over a 155 charged so I am over a 157 when I put the other two amps back in. i will give it a try and post a vid when i have the time just working my ass off right so I have not had much time.
  14. got a chance to get some videos of the second spl box I just built I did a large portion of testing before these vids were taken so keep in mind this is my SPL side on dead batteries right now still with half my amplifiers in.
  15. sorry for the late response been working 70 hours a week I will take 250 plus actual shipping so....10 cents a watt
  16. 4 ohms whats the VCC on your woofers I know its not single 8 ohm so with a mono amp you should have more then just a 4 ohm option
