i did the basics.....but didn't get too deep into it. Im working on the back, not the front.....its the DGAF! fuck driving, we need BASS!
Haha DGAF hell's yeah! Seeing your DGAF attitude more and more...towards the haters and the life of this car! very entertaining!

just my 2 cents but have you checked spark? I mean you should be able to pull the plugs out one at a time and crank it to see if each one is firing...if they aren't then could be the plugs, or wires or distibutor so on and so forth...just saying if it sounds like it's "missing" that's not a bad place to start....but might be good to throw it in another thread...your build though...not telling you what to do

kinda sad when Steve's D.G.A.F build looks better than allot of peoples G.A.F build!
Nice goodies! Lookin forward to seeing the electrical all juiced up and pumpin some powa!
edit: Those SHCA zip ties are actually really nice! Different from the thousands I've used at work, well worth the 8 bucks a pack!

Oh yeah....so you attached it to the change holder and made it so you can slide the the gauges in and out and still have a little place for some change....thats pretty cool!
-
ok now its bugging me...have to take another stab at it...
Is it that you color matched the dash bezel to the tahoe(along with the new guages)? I noticed it was painted at the beginning of this project but I thought maybe you had done that earlier and I just didn't notice it then...
...if that's not it I give up!

The most unique?
Kinda hard to put your finger on the most unique! Seeing as the whole is soo clean and custom!
I would have to say other than what people have already said when you turn the meters on and all including the vm-1 sweep the led's from one side to the other and back, because i thought only the tm-1 and om-1 do that?
My original vm-1 doesnt do that...but Tony is fixing that for me right now
If thats not it, i think you should tell us!

I'm with Nate, maybe he did not read the part where you wrote how about the dash and center console are from eachother in those vehicles? Its kind of a crappy place to put anything because they face two different directions and you are trying to put something in the meeting place of those two. I mean you have to match about 4 different angles to get something to look like it flows with the rest....looks like his dash couldn't follow any direction of any sort...looks like he just made an opening and crammed them in there!
Thank you Steve for not being a Dick like this guy and reaming allot of member builds that are not as quality as yours, mine included!

like how he says "looks so shitty" then "not hating friend"
If I made something as sick as that and one of my so called "friends" said it looks shitty I would definitely take it as HATING. Honeslty would be offended them calling me "friend."
There are ways of saying you dont like something, and there are ways of being a dick!

Nice! Looks great! I have been looking around for some of those molex connector kits to do some small projects...makes it nice for stuff you have to disconnect occasionally
-
Love the color match! Great choice for the Tahoe and definitely looks good on the dash/interior! Great work all around!
-
Looking Top notch as always ! Can't wait to finish my little SMD guages project!
-
that style doesn't have vacuum lines hooked up the the controller its self its just a couple of factory plugs with i dunno 10 wires each? Still not fun extending all of them, I don't know what the best way would be to extend vacuum lines(what to use that is)?
-
Haha nice! Been there! Back in the day didn't have THAT nice of a system but usually had some big ass box taking up most of the back seat, no room oh well! Last one in has to ride on the box! Nice set up....nice gear!
-
Nice man! I had the same idea about cutting the faceplates down like that and making one solid bezel with those gauges but went a different rout. But the way you did it came out better than I imagined, now you got me thinking about trying that again! Super clean! Yeah just did a mock up for my fan setup and wired up my TM-1.....it's seriously sooo nice not having to even worry about fans now! That TM-1 works really really nice! Works beautifully!
Guages came out amazing....but let's not forget the hvac and other controls relocation.....that was some nice clean work in there! Have fun extending all those wires lol!

Glad to see an update, That's cool about the tahoe possibly being in a magazine! Good work, get to it!
-
Looks sick man! Love my smd D'amore meters...they are just awesome!
-
Dude....I'm stealing that idea lol! Seriousely though great work!! that came out awesome...I placed mine where the factory ac controls were and they are bright which is nice but it did distract me so I put some plexi over them and smoked it with some night shades paint I bought at o'rielly auto. Worked prefect! if you were to tape off the rest of cluster with plastic you could just do a light coat...would save you ungluing it.
best solution would be unglue it and ask a tint shop for a scrap piece and use that...hope it isn't intense much for you!

Damn thats pretty sick! Yeah the slow motion makes that sooooo much cooler! And when the bass distorts the cameras focus makes it a little more epic lol!

Just placed my order on a SMD-Sound-Style-Bass and got the option for my name put on it....went with goodvibez....seemed fitting lol! That is a cool option!
btw I messed up and I think I ordered a medium instead of a large, sooo you might be getting an email from me

Hope your getting healed up and getting ready to tear this "B" up ! Cant wait for you to get your batteries so we can see more of this build!
-
Just sent and email asking about possible gold member discounts on this hope to hear back soon! This Looks awesome! Already got a buyer for my dd-1
-
Nice ive been wondering about that brand, good video keep them coming. Might have to invest in one of these bad boys!

Nice setup man! Just went through the build I have to say water cooling projects are awesome! Scary sometimes but seriously cool! First thing I ever did was my xbox360 back when they used to have massive "red ring" problems. Used alot of Koolance stuff like yours and I have to say your set up looks sick!
Noob test: How many of you think a modern battery can be discharged from sitting on concrete?

Haha Was just talking about this this last week!
All of our stock batteries at work are kept on top of a wooden plank or a pallet lol...I'm not the one who is going to get chewed out by a half deaf 70 year old shop manager! Nor do I try and teach and old dog new tricks!
I'll admit having 100lb+ batteries up off the floor is kinda nice!
for the record all my xs d2700's have been sitting on the concrete in my garage for 5+ months and still rest at 12.8volts
