  1. Hid's lookin good Steve, i was happy as hell when i switched to hid in my truck, went with8k because that matches my led bars.

Do your low beams stay on when your highs come on? I had to do some mods to mine to get it to that but i was just wondering if that was something your car does automatically, its bright s hell when all the lights are on :)

  2. Anyhow I did get the newer plexi in and I'm lovin it the best!

Basically the SMD is very faint and only seen in the daytime. I taped over the white parts of the guages so you can read the numbers and stuff better but its darkened alot where the blue shines through so its not so blinding and distracting at night when I drive :)

Here's how it came out....saddly the d'amore sticker got a little messed up when putting in the plexi so I my need to order new one.

I did one last coat with the washers off, and I'm letting the paint dry tonight then glue it tomorrow, I stuck it in front of the guges and you can see the white parts MUCH better after using some washers to tape them off. You wont really see the smd logo unless its daytime with them off...kinda like a screensaver kinda thing.

I didn't realize the stickers were silverish they looked black before I took the backing off. Looks much better than black anyway. Also looks cool when the led's light up

I know the smd sticker is not perfectly strait, it stuck to the plexi before I wanted it to so I was kinda stuck with it, and thats my only one so I dont hve another stencil. Maybe I'll have to hit up steve and see if I can't get a few more :)

  4. Hey guys i entered sotm this month and saw Steve posted this

6 Entries this month so far? I guess the prizes gonna start getting smaller. If this continues, then i might just cancel it due to lack of interest. It def. is not worth $150 out of my pocket to watch 5 out of the 16 say "oh well, i guess ill enter", like they had nothing better to do.

Maybe we start doing this every 3 months and see if it is appreciated more. Maybe by January, it is just gone. I need you guys to show me you want me to keep doing this or i won't have a choice.

So lets not lets not let this die! Enter your rides and vote! Feel free to vote for me, but there is allot of very nice and deserving rides out there I'm just trying to get the word out

  5. Yeah my truck originally was a bench in front and back, but then I bought some escalade captain chairs for the front. Then I bought some more leather captain chairs for the back and I have the subs running down the center into a custom built center console I built from mdf.

If your talking about the cubby hole above the rearview mirror, I think you will have to do some bodywork but that would be cool! I know they make ac controls for the tahoe/yukons/suburbans that go up there but they only control the rear stuff.

I did originally think about putting my smd gauges up there, and I still think they would look good up there but I liked this set up the best.

  6. Right below, I'm basically droping them down about 6-8" to the faceplate of the center console. These look better than the controles do and I like having my HU and gauges in one clutster when I'm giving a demo, so I can monitor everything. I could have just as easily mounted the smd gauges down there but I think this looks and works for me better.

Besides I live in a very hot town in az. The ac is stuck on full freeze 80% of the year so I dont touch my controls all that much lol!
