Well we twisted the boss's arm, we broke down and got a Virtual GT Driving Simulator, about $60k for it with all the mods we just added.

Anyways, long story short.. read the official press release :)

Race Simulator to be Displayed at The Cleveland Auto Show

nf_144.jpg If you think that you have the driving skills to win on a race course, you'll soon be able to prove it at the upcoming Cleveland Auto Show.

The Collection Auto Group will have two racing simulators at its booth, representing the cutting edge of racing simulation technology. If you're the best, you'll win a trip down to the Porsche Driving School in Alabama to further hone your skills behind the wheel.

"One of the simulators will be based on the Sony Playstation," said Bernie Moreno, president of the Collection Auto Group. "That one will be a Mercedes-Benz-themed race simulator that will be free of charge and available to everyone under the age of 21.

"The other simulator is called a VirtualGT Machine. It's one of the most unbelievable simulators available today. It's as close to driving a race car as you can get without being on the track yourself." The VirtualGT will be available to those over 21, and it will cost $20 to drive, said Moreno. The proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.

Each day, there will be a contest to see who has the fastest time on the VirtualGT, with the top scores being posted on the digital billboard at Airport Acura and Airport Infiniti. The billboard can easily be seen from Interstate 480. "You'll not only have the best time of the day, but everyone will be able to see it as they drive by on Interstate 480," said Moreno.

"We will also have a live video stream from the Auto Show on our website. So if you know that you'll be at the show racing, your buddies at home or work will be able to log on and see how well you did on the racing simulator. You'll also be able to paste the video onto your Facebook account."

The person with the best time of each day will win a pair of Cavaliers tickets courtesy of the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers' Association. "At the end of the show, the person with the overall best time will win a trip down to the Porsche Driving School in Alabama," Moreno added. Located at Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham, Alabama, the Porsche Driving School is the experience of a lifetime. Definitely not for the faint of heart, the Porsche Driving School operates year round and offers numerous courses for beginner, intermediate and advanced drivers. It also offers special programs that are tailored to specific groups of drivers.

In the U.S., Porsche operates one of the country's top sport driving schools. Guest drivers of all skill levels receive personal instruction in Porsche-renowned sports cars from 28 top professional drivers. Many are highly accomplished drivers in their sport and have historic wins in some of the world's most renowned races. Barber Motorsports Park is considered one of the finest racetracks in North America.

"After the show, we're planning to move the VirtualGT machine into our Porsche dealership," said Moreno. "Anyone who comes in to test drive a Porsche will be able to take a drive on the simulator. Then, each quarter, the person with the fastest time will also win a chance to go to Porsche Driving school."
