Lowering A Ford Explorer

Burrito's right!! There's not a kit for them. I've got a 98 explorer sport and just dropped the front. All I did was took my torsion bar bolts out along with some Edelbrock shocks for 1.5" drop. It dropped it about 3 inches. Now I've got to do the rear. Mine has 4 blocks (which total about 1.75 ")between the axle and leaf spring and all I've got to do is flip them around. I have some pics of the front, so let me see if I can find them.

I think you should be able to tell the difference. It was 35" from the ground to the wheel well lip, now it's 32". I know my truck is dirty too!!! LOL!!

Forgot to mention you have to get a camber kit and an alignment to correct the negative camber you get once lowered.

its cool, i just stopped by a local dealership and looked at a 03 explorer...may be picking that up..who knows

It probably has torsion bars up front. You can loosen up the torsion keys a bit and it'll get it down. It'll ride like hell, but if it's what you want, do it.

The rear is leafs over the axle IIRC. You could get a flip kit for a Ranger, should work.

ya just take ur torsion bolts out, get a camber adjusting kit thats like +/- 2 degrees, and lowering blocks in the back. you can even flip the torsion bars after removing the torsion bolts, and get like 4-5" total drop up front. looks badass, but its very hard to get the camber back to normal, you probably wont get it perfect.
