DBz
Whats up fellas..I just purchased (4) RF P3 15s , rated 500 rms (1000 peak), which is going to be in a wall in my civic, running off of an audioque 2200. I came up with some numbers and would appreciate any input on this build. I think I did this correctly, tuning is going to be at 33-34 hz @ 10.1 cubes after displacements. Each speaker needs from 1.5 to 3 cubic feet, so will having four of these at 10.1 cubes gonna be alrite? Blackedout
You need about 120-160 sq inches of port. You have 40 sq inches right now. You'll want about 2.5-3.0 cubes after displacement for those subs. Right now you have probably 9 cubes (Braced, port displacement, and .2 displacement for each sub).. so you have probably 2.25 cu feet per sub.... You need a little more airspace in order for it to be idea. What year is your civic? Tune to in the upper 30s to 40 hz range. Civics tend to peak in the 45-55 hz range... So unless your running a bandpass box, trying to pressurize that cabin below its resonant frequency is only going to make it flex a ton.
