Its the tranny fluid. What happens is that the fluid overtime will wear out. When driving for a while, do you smell anything? If so, then im pretty sure its the fluid. The sound your hearing is the gears grinding and heating up. To check the fluid, you have to start the car on a flat surface, wait about 10 mins for the car to warm up. After 10 min, put your foot on the brake and go through each shift (drive, reverse, neutral, etc.) After you cycle through them, put it back to neutral and check the fluid. Get a paper towel and wipe the dipstick and re insert. Pull it out again and wipe it. Look at the fluid, Is it black and have shavings in there? If so then you have to replace the fluid.
