basic cd player woe's

fiance has a 2002 kia spectra, i ordered a metra install kit and wiring harness, got everything wired up, soldered and heat shrunk, pull the dash face out, undid the 11 or 12 connectors for the different dials, switches and indicators, got everything bolted in and connected, radio works great, then in the midst of pluging everything back in, i guess kia motors designed the clock connector the same shape as the fog light connector, i plugged the clock connector into the fog light connection, and instantly the radio shut off and dome lights went out!, i quickly undid it, and last night and this morning i have checked every fuse in the car 3 times, and every fuse is good even the radio fuse, and still nothing, the clock is now very dim, and i have no radio, ive also unhooked the battery to hopefully "reset" something and still nothing, called kia and the seem to think i fried some wiring, i dont like this answer, a part of me says that isnt the problem, any help here is well more than appreciated, a ride with no radio is merely a driveway paper weight, please help
