Forevrbumpn Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) While clearing out my grandmothers house, if you dont know, she died last year. We have been going back and forth every now and then to clean up the house and get it ready for resale. I cam across my uncles old audio collection. He was only in to the top notch stuff. He was a wealthy Architect, who loved only the top quality stuff. Ducati's, BMWs, and he loved his audio systems. While cleaning up, I found a bunch of stuff. These are all stuff he had since new- I know, because I lived with him around 1990. I have these like new Klipsch Heresy II speakers, 12" bass driver, horn mid, and horn tweeter. I honestly knew these were good, but I didn't think they would compare to my custom built entertainment system with speakers built in. I was wrong, the clarity, the highs, mids, and lows were so crystal clear, powerful, and distortion free. I listened to all music styles with these, on just 60rms per cabinet, and was just blown away. 3 hrs, I didn't get bored Anyways, here are a few pics. I didn't bother cleaning them up, I took pics as is. Cabinets are heavy, 3/4" OAK, not MDF, or Particle board, very dense walls. No chips, clean, and woofers are very solid. Accordion surround is in perfect condition, dome is solid, cone is solid, suspension still stiff.. I tested each one on my speaker tester, and they are 100% identical. What this tells me is the woofers are not mismatched, or one reconed at a different time than the other. Iam looking for $500 for the pair. The cost of these, I have been finding for about $700 or so. New they were about $800 each one! These are the Heresy II 1986 models The flash is killing the cabinet pics, but honestly the wood is still a nice fresh oak color, not faded or dull. http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/klipsch/floorstanding-speakers/heresy-ii/PRD_119927_1594crx.aspx I also have a nice Laser-disc collection, all the great movies from the Laser-disc days, and the Panasonic Laser-disc Player LX-200U. This is also a classic from September 1990 http://www.laserdiscarchive.co.uk/laserdisc_archive/panasonic/panasonic_lx-200/panasonic_lx-200.htm If your looking for specific movies let me know. I have about 40 here from Mambo kings to Paul Simon in concert. PRICE DROP ON THESE- A Local pawn shop offered me a decent deal on these, and figured Id drop the price by half here $250 for the par. YOU CANNOT find these for a better price, unless you get lucky bidding on Ebay $250 till tomorrow morning at 9am Edited April 28, 2011 by Forevrbumpn I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
