[Updated - Fixed] Who can figure out what I'm doing wrong?

I blew another set of fuses after I installed the new 4 ohm subs and wired them down to 1 ohm. I slowly started adjusting my gain up and noticed that when the bass would it, the first half second it would hit normal, then would quiet down.

Long story short I unplugged the Ipod USB cable and hooked it up via auxilliary cable and the bass actually hit normal.

Pulled out a Fluke DMM and set my gain right and have not had a single problem. The gain is now about a quarter turn past where it was blowing fuses.

So future reference, the Ipod USB cables, the white ones, might not be the best route. Not sure if mine were faulty but I gave up on it all together and went AUX.
