Could I just get an HO alternator, and like a red top optima battery, and upgrade the big 3, then two caps and still be fine? Thats with running two 1000 watts and a 350 watt amp.

I know with FORD if you do the big 3 it will void your factory warranty and any ESP plans with them. I didn't do the big 3 or extra battery because my Alt was 150 stock and my battery was sitting at 14.2 volts on full tilt. I have one cap installed because I didn't want to buy a yellow top.

I am thinking about just doing like a 2.5 fared cap and running the two 1000's off that, and running the 350.4 straight off the battery. Will upgrade the battery though, I don't want to void my warranty.

I would do the extra battery and check this thread out for some great info:

I am going to get XSD5100, my old yellow top lasted me 3 years on my 2,000 watt Buick build with all JL audio. This was the first time I used a cap, and what I wanted it was for the voltage readout.

If you are going to listen to music for a daily driver, or for a few hours or so...the cap will fail to supply your electrical pull for your amps without stressing your system.

You might want to wire all 0 gauge for power if you do get your 2,400 watts.

I think I will just upgrade the battery, and soon the alternator. RF has a 2.0 cap that could handle both those amps no problem, I am not running them 100% ever. 60% usually at the most. Then the 350.4 can just run an 8gauge by itself. I already have 4gauge installed for my amp, I can use that to power the cap, and I also have a 4guage ground running to the front as well I can also use. The ground for the smaller amp I will just install it in the trunk as it's not very big.

Have you seen anybody do a l7 box on here? I am going to custom build mine and I am looking for good ideas. I have a good idea for amp rack but not the box, I want them facing towards the inside of the car. Also whats a good site for getting the materials?

Use the search feature upper right hand corner of SMD. Type in your search like this "L7 boxes" make sure you use the "quotes" I would get my materials from Home Depot, you will get a better price unless you search online for someone who does free shipping. Some people on here will help you with your box idea if you ask or post a topic. I asked for a box design for 4 Sundowns SA-12" and got replys quick.
