  1. This is my 2008 Ford Focus Coupe. I have already went through a few systems, but here is some pictures of the last two, if you have any constructive advice for me please let me know. Right now I am currently looking for an amp to match the re xxx d4 because my 1000 watt kicker doesnt cut it. I had a jlw7ae 13.5 and I am pretty impressed with it and will be keeping it, but I got the re for the simple fact that jl can't hit lows. Dynamat I put in a while back, took a bulk pack to do the entire thung. This is the 13.5 jlw7ae Red top optima I put in last week The dd 12" Re xxx dual 4 ohm The box has rhino lining on the outside of it Here you see the amps and the Rockford 2 fared cap that I'm sure I have hooked up right because the reading drops down to 12 volts sometimes so I don't think I have it hooked up correctly, I know I charged it right though. Door speakers plus kicker amp If anybody has any advice on what amp to get tO get the rms this sub needs please tell me
  2. Is it a big deal if the sub is wired at 3 ohm or .75 ohms? And would a rf t500bdcp put out 1500 rms at 3 ohms?
  3. I just received my w7 the other day, and I was a little confused on which amp to get. At first I was set on getting the Rockford Fosgate T1500, but then I hit a bump. Can the sub be wired to 1ohm? It is a dual 1.5 vc, I don't really understand what that means but I know I need an amp that is at least 1 ohm stable. I could always go with the jl audio 1000/1v2 but it's a little pricier than the RF amp. Would it be safe to wire the sub to 1 ohm using the rf amp? Thanks for the help.
  4. Straight genius. I just ordered the distortion detector, a lot later than when I actually wanted it but I am just now getting back from my deployment and it was a present for myself I am excited to hear more about this.
  5. This thread is for you all to post what you think your best app is, or just some of your favorites, can be a game or a utility it doesn't matter. This is meant to share some of the cooler hard to find apps out there. My favorite and very useful app. (Just got this one the other day thanks to another member here) Name: Signal Gen Function: Plays any frequency you choose, great for tuning your system.
  6. 2008 Ford Focus Coupe Build System upgrades in chronological order 1) New 15" Vibe Audio Space sub, the one I currently have the cone is torn so this needs to last me until I get new ones. 2) 80 sq ft of second skin damplifier 3) 3 sheets 3/4" 49"x97" MDF 4) 1 50' Spool Stinger 0 gauge 5) 1 250' spool stinger 8 gauge 6) 4 20' stinger RCA 7) 2 round stinger box terminals 2 xscorpion 4" flange 10" ports 9) 15 pack Stinger 0 gauge ring terminals 10)25 pack stinger 8 gauge barrier spade terminals 11)2 stinger hpm digital battery terminal 12)2 stinger hpm water resistant anl fuse holder 13)2 xs d3400 power batteries 14)2 vibe audio blackdeath 15" paper cones 15)2 rockford fosgate t2500 bdCP amps Haven't decided on what alternator to use, I have seen a lot of really good reviews on irragi, but still deciding. Have not created a box design yet as well, still experimenting with some on sketchup pro. Will be taking screen shots and pictures of the build. Starts next week. Hoping to compete when system is done. All advice, criticism and suggestions are encouraged as this is my first big build, but my first foot in the door of competition audio so this is really exciting for me. Thanks to all who help and put their word in.
  7. I literally just downloaded and used this app and it works great imo. It was only like 0.99 in the itunes store.
  8. I recently bought 2 kicker l7s 12inch 2011 series and it was not really what I was looking for. So I found a hookup on a pair of Vibe Audio Space 15's in a giant box. One of the cones needs to be re done but the other one pounds, ridiculously tight bass for a 15, and it's only powered by a kicker 1000.1 ix series amp. Anyways I am really impressed. So here is some pictures of the subs that I got.
  9. Edited With Carp Photo* She's going to get some simple wheels and tires put on her, then lower it about an inch, the just smoke out the headlights and tail lights.
  10. I think I will just upgrade the battery, and soon the alternator. RF has a 2.0 cap that could handle both those amps no problem, I am not running them 100% ever. 60% usually at the most. Then the 350.4 can just run an 8gauge by itself. I already have 4gauge installed for my amp, I can use that to power the cap, and I also have a 4guage ground running to the front as well I can also use. The ground for the smaller amp I will just install it in the trunk as it's not very big. Have you seen anybody do a l7 box on here? I am going to custom build mine and I am looking for good ideas. I have a good idea for amp rack but not the box, I want them facing towards the inside of the car. Also whats a good site for getting the materials?
  11. I am thinking about just doing like a 2.5 fared cap and running the two 1000's off that, and running the 350.4 straight off the battery. Will upgrade the battery though, I don't want to void my warranty.
  12. Yeah with labor. I will add it up tomorrow and put it on here.
  13. Could I just get an HO alternator, and like a red top optima battery, and upgrade the big 3, then two caps and still be fine? Thats with running two 1000 watts and a 350 watt amp.
  14. I will post a video when I get my sub back in. There was a short in one of the subs so they are sending me a new one, I am operating on one right now wired down to 4 ohms still sounds decent. But I will post a video this weekend, the tint will be on the car, the 2nd amp and 6x9s will be in all wired together with the door speakers as well and hopefully the other sub will be in and I will have the new head unit in. Hopefully I can make up my mind on which head unit to get I don't really know which are best for subs, I want good eq on it. Then the next Saturday like the 13th I will try to put in the other battery and amp as well. But that's quite a bit of money so I may just get the battery then amp on the next paycheck lol.
  15. Thanks man. Its funny you mention that store because I just went there yesterday to pick up some 100a fuses. I wanted to keep everything kicker, stinger, and rf in my car, that's why I didn't go to al and eds, he mostly got rockfords.
  16. It was altogether probably about $2800. The amp that I have running to the subs is 2ohm stable I believe. The one in the picture it says it can be 2 ohm stereo or 4 ohm bridged I kept all the invoices, warranties, and birth certificate's.
  17. I have a black 2008 Ford Focus 2dr Coupe. Car: Subs: Amp #2 I don't have pictures of the rest of the build yet but here is the invoice. No head unit yet thats coming this weekend. Next to buy: headunit (unsure which brand or model so suggestions are considered) another kicker 1000.1 ix series amp dynamat custom built box When I buy the other amp am I gonna need another battery? Or would I be okay running to caps off that one battery? And if I do need another batter do I still need to buy 2 caps for both the bigger amps? Or am I good without them?
