Hey!

I have a small problem. I currently have

an RFD2112 Punch HX2 (1000 watts max power dual 2 ohms)

and an

RF Power BD1000D 1000 watt amp.

ok so that's what i have. originally, i has 2x rfd2112's wired up to the above amp. the system got stolen at one point from the boot of my car, and the douche that stole it put a screwdriver through the cone of the second subwoofer. that sub is now gone, and i have the above. while doing a bit of googling i was unable to find anything that immediately gave away if the one good sub and the amp will work together as one system, or if the amp is too powerful for that one sub.

ideally, if those two will work together fine, all i'd need is the cabling from the engine bay to the boot of the car. my question to all of you guys and girls is: will those 2 work together?

thanks in advance :D

edit:

some info from the label of the amp

500 x 1 watts rms continuous power into

4 ohms with less than 1% TH+N from 10-250hz +/- 3db

1000 x 1 watts rms continuous power into

2 ohms with less than 1% TH+N from 10-250hz +/- 3db

edit:

im flying totally blind, but i did find this:

http://m.seimg.net/product/img/subwoofer_wiring/1_sub_DVC_2_ohm_mono_variation1.jpg

not sure if that's applicable to what I have

Easy, bud.

Wire your DVC sub in series for a 4ohm load, and your amps happens to put out 500w rms at 4ohms, so you're set!

If you're unsure how to wire the sub, you can Google "DVC sub wiring", or do as follows:

Run wire from the + amp terminal to one of the sub's + terminals.

Run wire from the - amp terminal to one of the sub's - terminals.

Run a short 'jumper' wire from the sub's leftover + and - terminals.

Voila!

That's awesome news. Saves me alot of cash! So just the cabling now, and modifications to the dashboard area for wiring.

thanks alot :)))
