Anybody GPing with old skool?

Anybody here using massive power from old school amps? My young ass considers the Punch and Power 1500BD old school. I know there are older high powered amps. I ask because a buddy of mine had this old ass soundstream amp. It was fairly small (mounted under seat) and blue, but he said it could run @ .5 ohm and it shook the ground (flooded out his highs that weren't that great anyways). Don't know what kind of speakers he had, but I know it much harder to find old subs that take serious power.
